At Living Healthier By Design, we love supporting our local youth teams and the amazing kids who give it their all on and off the field. Community, health, teamwork, and confidence all go hand in hand — and youth sports play a huge role in building that foundation.

We’re always excited to help out local teams like the Riverside Rams Softball Team and any other community programs making a difference.

To the Riverside Rams Softball team — we wish you good luck this season, strong teamwork, and many great wins ahead!

✨ New Year’s is just a few days away🤩

So let me ask you something —
What are your resolutions?
If you even have any at all.

Everywhere I look I hear:
• “I’m going to lose weight”
• “I need to get my finances together”
• “I have to clean up the clutter”
• “I want to read more”

But here’s my real question 👇
Why do we always wait?

Why does it have to be:
• January 1st
• A Monday
• The first of the month
• Or better yet… a Monday that lands on the first of the month

The truth is —
You don’t need a Monday.
You don’t need a new month.
And you definitely don’t need a New Year.

What you do need is to be ready and willing.

Whether it’s your:
✔️ Health
✔️ Finances
✔️ Career
✔️ School
✔️ Relationships
✔️ Or simply finding yourself again

When you’re ready — start.
Not perfectly.
Not all-or-nothing.
Just start.

Because the magic isn’t in the date…
✨ It’s in the consistency. ✨

Consistency creates habits.
Habits create discipline.
And discipline is what actually changes your life.

You have to want it.
Not just the number on the scale…
Not just the idea of “feeling better”…
But the daily choices that get you there.

Here’s the honest truth 👇
In the moment, food often feels more important than the goal.
The Big Mac, the wings (and yes… we ALL love buffalo wings 🦬🔥),the pizza, the fries, the burgers and so much more.

Listen — that doesn’t make you weak.
It means we need to talk about how you think around food.

Because weight loss isn’t always about willpower.
It’s also about mindset, habits, and understanding food — not fearing it.

I use the word restriction very loosely…
Because I do not believe in restricting food.

I believe in the 80/20 rule:
🥗 80% of the time, you fuel your body with foods it recognizes as food — real, nourishing, satisfying.
🍕 20% of the time, you enjoy life. No guilt. No shame. Just moderation.

When your body is properly nourished:
✔️ It tells you when it’s full
✔️ It tells you when it’s satisfied
✔️ And the urge to overindulge naturally fades away

That’s when weight loss becomes sustainable.
That’s when exercise feels supportive — not punishment.
That’s when food stops being the enemy.

If food is always winning in the moment, it’s not a discipline problem…
It’s a thinking problem — and that’s fixable.

It doesn’t feel like much, right?

Just a bite of pie.
A piece of candy.
A few bites off your kid’s plate.
The leftover chicken nugget.
The last bite of pizza.

But here’s the truth 👇
Those little bites add up fast.

Grazing all day long can easily turn into hundreds of extra calories — without ever sitting down for a real meal or feeling satisfied.

⚠️ REAL TALK (RANT WITH LOVE) ⚠️

Hi friends ❤️

I’ve been seeing so many posts lately that start with:
“I ate chocolate.”
“I had nachos.”
“I missed a workout.”

And somehow that turns into:
“I ruined everything.”

Let me be very clear — NO, YOU DIDN’T.

Food is not the enemy.
One meal does not erase weeks of progress.
And shaming yourself only leads to quitting or bingeing.

This is a lifestyle change, not a punishment.
Who is honestly giving up their favorite foods forever?
Not me. And you don’t have to either.

Here’s the rule that actually works 👇
80/20 living.
Eat well most of the time.
Enjoy life some of the time.

So you had nachos.
You had cake.
OK. Big deal.

👉 Move on.
👉 Don’t punish yourself.
👉 Just make your very next meal healthy.

That’s how consistency is built.
That’s how real results happen.

Are you at the point of “heck with it” — too many parties, too many events, too much going on… and suddenly your health goals feel optional?
