This patient required extensive reconstruction - the young patient had developed basal cell carcinoma on the tip of his nose requiring removal and subsequently reconstruction. Happy Friday! Today we are sharing this before and after ! This procedure is so effective in refreshing the overall appearance of the face. An upper blepharoplasty is a procedure in which excess skin from the top eyelid is removed. It usually takes about 1 hour, can be done in the office or the operating room, and takes 1-2 weeks to initially recover from with swelling improving over time. We hope everybody had a Merry Christmas! Today we are sharing this before and after of a lower lip scar! This patient presented to the office with a scar on her lower lip for which she desired improvement. Lower lip scars can be difficult given the contour of the lip and the thickeness of the scar. Using carefully selected tissue to match the surrounding area is crucial to a seamless reconstruction. Now her scar is hardly visible!

Before and 3 months after ! This surgery was aimed at reducing the hump, refining, elevating, and repositioning the nasal tip. The result is a natural, refined nose that compliments her face! Three months is still so early out from surgery but she is already healing beautifully!

This reconstruction required use of a pedicled transposition flap to get her back to normal! By using tissue from the surrounding area and tucking the scar discretely into the side of her nose, Dr. Allak was able to restore this patients skin following the excision of cancer on her nostril. She is back to living her daily life and we are so happy for her!
