This is shocking. There was also the story of a scientist who specialized in mercury chemistry. She died a slow, horrible death when mercury spilled on her rubber gloves. Latex does not protect against mercury.

A report out of Minnesota indicates a woman saw multiple doctors for non-specific symptoms, which progressed to the loss of her peripheral vision, apparently tied to skin-whitening products.

This is why we should never take things for granted. Skin pigmentation and other factors can alter the accuracy of pulse oximetry. We rely heavily on pulse oximetry for monitoring patients. As always, clinical picture trumps testing. As my patients know, I'm skeptical of tests. There are errors both of accuracy and human interpretation. Sometimes these errors are substantial.

Microneedling with the Skin Sen has turned out to be a terrific treatment for hair loss and skin rejuvenation. It takes a bit of time to see the results but there is no denying the improvement.

We also have Kybella. This is an enzyme that dissolves fat deposits. Bags under the chin, along the neck and even love handles can be addressed with small injections instead of surgery.
