Key Duties and responsibilities:
Empower youth to resolve current issues and to develop coping strategies for the future.
Develop and implement therapeutic activities for mentees to release stress and build rapport.
Complete all required documentation, which includes but is no limited to, the tracking of all individualized behavior programs, discharge planning, progress notes, mentee plans, and all related documentation in compliance with FAPT, DJJ, and CSA standards.
Maintain weekly contact with mentee’s primary caregivers, school personnel, and other relevant health care professionals.
Schedule and attend meetings as required.
If needed, attend school meetings, court (CIS, IEP, child study, etc) upon approval Program Coordinator.
Acknowledge their strengths, talents, and gifts and encourage them to find ways to use them.
Provide a model for a healthy, trusting relationship through clear communication and setting appropriate boundaries.
Provide transportation for mentees as needed.
Engage in activities outside of the home to help expose youth to new opportunities and experiences.
Be an active listener and offer support and encouragement when appropriate.
