What is a knot in your muscle? I have heard so many explanations and basically it can be caused by many things . . . Maybe emotional stress and tension or tight fascia or muscle tissue that’s decreasing circulation and causing nerve pain in that area or a build up of metabolic waste in the tissues causing spasms and soreness.
Improving circulation in the area will reduce that tight sore tissue and help relieve pain.
“We think that a knot is a chronic change in the tissue where there’s a decrease blood supply,” says Dr. Clifford Stark, almost like a tiny patch of cramped muscle tissue.
