Our residents wrapped up a delicious Derby spread and quickly shifted into game mode—studying their picks, making their bids, and gearing up for the big race. The anticipation is building, the excitement is rising, and you can feel the buzz all around! 🌹🎉

🏇🌹 And they’re off at Harmony! 🌹🏇

What an absolutely thrilling day at our Harmony Independent & Assisted Living Community as 53 of our residents gathered in style to celebrate the 2026 Kentucky Derby in Roanoke! 🎉

We kicked things off with a spread fit for Churchill Downs—delicious deviled eggs, classic pimento cheese, crackers, pretzel bites with spicy cheese, fresh fruit, and of course… refreshing mint juleps! 🍓🥨🥂

Then came the moment everyone was waiting for—placing bets on their top two horses! The room filled with excitement as cheers rang out, laughter echoed, and friendly competition brought everyone together. 🎟️🐎

From the fashion to the fun, the energy was contagious! Residents were on the edge of their seats, celebrating every stride with big smiles and even bigger spirit. 💐🎩

What a fantastic first day of May here at Harmony! 🌸🌼

Our day bloomed beautifully as Marian got her hands in the soil, planting flowers in our front yard—bringing color, life, and a fresh sense of spring to our community. 🌷 There’s nothing like watching new beginnings grow right before our eyes!

Inside, the sweet smell of sunshine filled the air as Greta shared her baking talents, teaching fellow residents how to make delicious lemon bars. 🍋 From mixing to tasting, it was a treat for everyone!

In true May Day spirit, we came together to build our very own May Pole—huge thanks to our amazing Maintenance Assistant, Tom, for making it happen! Then the creativity took over as our Life Enrichment Director, Ange, and Assistant, Bobbi, led the decorating with vibrant ribbons and festive flair. 🎀

The celebration continued as we learned the history of the May Pole and brought it to life with music, movement, and laughter through the traditional dance. 💃

A day filled with growth, creativity, teamwork, and joy—this is what Life in Harmony is all about! 💛
