🌳 Picnic Day at Wasena Park 🎶

We soaked up the beautiful weather at Wasena Park today, enjoying a relaxing picnic, our favorite tunes, and a refreshing stroll along the greenway. It was the perfect mix of good food, good music, and even better company.

A big thank you to our kitchen team for preparing delicious sandwiches for the trip — they hit the spot. And a heartfelt thank you to Lexi for joining us and lending a helping hand throughout the day. We’re grateful for you.

Days like this remind us how special it is to get outside, laugh together, and enjoy the simple moments. 💛🌼

Jennifer is a beast in the very best way. From a cell phone practically glued to her ear or fingers, to a housekeeping cart in her reach, gloves on her hands, sweat on her brow, medications in hand and moments where she’s knee-deep in the realities of care—kitchen grease, body fluids, and all—she never stops moving for the people she serves.

She is truly one of a kind. A leader whose dedication, compassion, and commitment to the safety, health, and well-being of residents, staff, families, and the entire community always rise above everything else.

🌎🌱 Celebrating Earth Day 🌱🌎

Today we got our hands a little dirty—in the best way—as we celebrated Earth Day together. Residents spent the morning planting seeds for colorful flowers and juicy summer tomatoes, each tiny pot a promise of growth and sunshine to come.

We also got creative with nature by making beautiful bookmarks using fresh azalea blooms. Pressing the petals and arranging them just right turned into such a lovely activity. Everyone loved taking home a little piece of spring.

And of course, no Earth Day celebration is complete without a fun treat… so we enjoyed delicious dirt pudding topped with gummy worms. Lots of smiles, lots of laughter, and plenty of sweet nostalgia.

It was a day full of simple joys, new beginnings, and appreciation for the world around us. 🌼🌿💚

🌼 Pressed Flower Tea Towels with ACG Hospice 🌼

We had a lovely morning with our friends from ACG Hospice. They brought us a creative project that brought spring right to our fingertips. Residents spent time pressing colorful blooms and turning them into beautiful flower tea towels.

It was relaxing, meaningful, and such a lovely way to welcome the season together. Thank you to ACG Hospice for sharing this wonderful activity with us. Our residents absolutely loved it, and the finished towels are just gorgeous.🌸

☀️ Soaking Up Every Bit of This Beautiful Warm Weather ☀️

We’ve been making the most of this wonderful stretch of sunshine all week long — and our residents have loved every minute of it.

Walking Club headed outside for fresh air and movement, the courtyard filled with music, bubbles, popsicles, and plenty of smiles. There’s something special about enjoying simple moments together under blue skies and warm breezes.

From chats to tunes to strolls in the sunshine, it’s been a week full of joy, connection, and that perfect springtime energy. 🌼💛

🍽️💛 A Wonderful Outing to Montano’s Today! 💛🍽️

Our residents enjoyed a fantastic afternoon at Montano’s Restaurant, and we couldn’t be more grateful for their wonderful hospitality. From the warm welcome to the delicious food, every part of our visit made the day feel special.

The staff went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt comfortable and cared for, and the smiles around the table said it all. Outings like this remind us how meaningful it is to share good food, good company, and good moments together.

Thank you, Montano’s, for treating our group with such kindness — we appreciate you more than you know and thank you to Sam for going with us and helping us have a great time today!

🌷✨ Easter Dinner Celebration ✨🌷

What a wonderful evening we shared as our residents, their families, and friends gathered together for our Easter Dinner. The room was filled with laughter, conversation, and the kind of togetherness that makes nights like this so special.

We were especially delighted to welcome a very hoppy guest — the Easter Bunny stopped by to spread smiles, pose for photos, and bring a little extra magic to the celebration.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make tonight feel warm, festive, and full of joy. Thank you to our dining team for the wonderful meal and to everyone who helped make the evening possible! These moments of connection mean so much to our community. 💛🐰🍽️

✨ A Heartfelt Thank‑You to Lauren from Beth Israel Synagogue - Roanoke, VA ✨

Today we had the pleasure of welcoming Lauren from the Beth Israel synagogue, who shared with us the rich Jewish traditions of Passover — from the meaning behind the Seder plate to the stories, symbols, and rituals that make the holiday so meaningful.

Our residents loved learning, asking questions, and connecting with traditions that have been passed down for generations.

To make the experience even more special, Lauren treated us to a taste of Seder dinner, giving everyone a chance to sample the flavors and warmth of this celebration.

We are so grateful for her time, her kindness, and the wonderful cultural experience she brought to our community. Thank you, Lauren, for sharing your knowledge and your heart with us. 🌿✨
