Valentine’s Day may be over but February reminds us that true love isn’t just a day — it’s a lifetime. We’re so grateful to celebrate our sweet couples!

Today we highlight June and Charles. These love birds have been dating for five years , but their journey started long ago as friends at church.

One of June’s favorite things about Charles? “He makes me laugh.” And for her, that joy and lightheartedness make every day brighter.

Charles says their relationship is filled with simple moments that make him smile. It’s not about grand gestures—it’s the everyday conversations, shared laughs, and quiet time together that mean the most.

Their advice for a love that lasts:

This week, we’re honored to highlight another incredible couple celebrating 72 years of marriage — Mr. and Mrs. Ward!

These high school sweetheart’s built a beautiful life together and are the loving parents of four children, 13 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren — wow, what a legacy!

They fondly remember square dancing together every Friday night — a tradition that kept their hearts young and their bond strong.

Mr. Ward’s advice for making love last?
“Settle your fights and follow your heart wherever it may take you.”

This past Friday, we kicked off the Super Bowl weekend with our very own “Soup-er Bowl” 🥣celebration. Staff brought in their favorite homemade soups and competed for the top prize in a fun and flavorful showdown. Congratulations to Amy, our director of Rehab, for winning with her delicious “Cowboy Chili” 🌶️🤠🏆

This week we are highlighting another extraordinary couple here at the Valley-
The Mathews. 💘

Mr. and Mrs. Mathews are high school sweethearts whose love story has spanned an incredible 71 years of marriage. They fondly recall enjoying one of their first dates together at a drive-in movie theater, a simple moment that marked the beginning of a lifetime together.

The Mathews credit their lasting love to settling disagreements, having confidence in one another, and learning to tolerate each other through life’s ups and downs.💜

In celebration of Valentines Day this month, we’re highlighting the love stories of resident couples who call our community home.

This week, we’re featuring the Wingfields, who have shared 72 years of marriage. Arthur and Willie have known each other since childhood, growing up in the same church and reconnecting later after Arthur spoke at a youth event that Willie attended.

From sharing a bottled coke with two straws to building a life together, their story is full of simple, meaningful moments.

When asked what makes love last, they shared this wisdom: forgiveness- and knowing when to give and when to take. Arthur added “whatever she says is right!” 🥰
