🍁 As fall winds down and the Christmas season begins, we’re excited to share our Fall Door Décor at Our Lady of the Valley and our Cornucopia of Kindness displays in Assisted Living and the Nursing Center.

Residents, staff, families, and visitors added messages of thanks and kindness to our fall cutouts, bringing so much warmth to our community.

🇺🇸Honoring Our Heroes at OLOV ❤️🤍💙

We celebrated our veterans with a heartfelt program in their honor. A very special thank you to the Carilion Clinic Hospice Choir for joining us and filling the room with beautiful patriotic songs.

We are also deeply grateful for the veteran volunteer, who proudly pinned each of our veterans in recognition of their service.

To all who have served, thank you for your courage, your sacrifice, and your dedication to our country. It was truly a special day here at Our Lady of the Valley.

🎨 Art from the Heart at The Christopher Center 💜

We celebrated the incredible creativity of our residents with a special Art Show featuring pieces they’ve created over the past few months. 🌟

It was truly magical to see their hard work, imagination, and joy on display! Each painting and craft tells a story... a reflection of memories, emotions, and the beauty of self-expression.

At The Christopher Center, art is more than an activity, it’s a meaningful part of our memory care program that helps residents connect, express themselves, and find joy in the moment. 💕

🌿 October is Clergy Appreciation Month, and October 19–25 marks National Pastoral Care Week! It's the perfect time to celebrate someone very special here at Our Lady of the Valley!

We are so grateful for Lorie Holter, our Pastoral Counselor, whose compassionate heart and steady presence bring so much comfort and hope to our residents.

Lorie dedicates countless hours to prayer, Bible studies, and simply being a caring, listening ear to those who need it most. Her ministry touches lives in quiet but powerful ways every single day.

We are proud to recognize Robert Haring, CNA, as the recipient of our STAR Award, an honor given to team members who go above and beyond in their role. This award celebrates exemplary performance, gratitude, and recognition for outstanding care.

As our Health Services Administrator, Danci, shares:

“Robert has been an outstanding member of our team, consistently going above and beyond to provide compassionate care for every patient he serves. His gentle demeanor, attentive care, and ability to truly listen make him a favorite among both patients and their families. Robert not only meets the expectations of his role, he exceeds them.”

🎃 CANDY DONATIONS NEEDED! 🍬

Halloween is almost here, and on Friday, Oct. 31, little trick-or-treaters from local preschools will be visiting our community in costume! 👻✨

We’re collecting candy and non-candy treats (stickers, small toys, etc.) to make the day extra special. Donations can be dropped off at the Assisted Living front desk by Oct. 30.

Thank you for helping us bring smiles to our residents and our tiniest guests! 💜🧡

🎉 Neighborhood Block Party at Our Lady of the Valley! 🎶🍔🌭

We brought everyone together- from Assisted Living, Memory Care, and the Nursing Center, for an afternoon filled with friendship, music, and delicious food!

This special event was all about reconnecting with old friends, meeting new ones, and celebrating the wonderful community we share here at Our Lady of the Valley. 💜
