In collaboration with the state EMS for CHILDREN Program, there is an upcoming NRV PREHOSPITAL PECC TRAINING WORKSHOP in February.

Course Description:

Ensuring high-quality pediatric emergency care begins with system readiness, provider competence, and strong organizational leadership. This workshop introduces EMS clinicians to the vital role of the Pediatric Emergency Care Coordinator (PECC) and outlines
how this position enhances agency preparedness, training, quality improvement, and overall pediatric care delivery.

Participants will explore the responsibilities and qualifications of a PECC, review national guidance and research supporting the position, and examine common gaps in current pediatric EMS systems—including training deficits, equipment challenges, and administrative barriers.

The course emphasizes developing agency priorities, building collaborative partnerships, and implementing evidence-based pediatric protocols and performance improvement processes.

🚑 2026 WVEMS EMT to Paramedic Course – Now Open for Applications!

📍 Location: Radford University at Carilion (Roanoke)
📅 Course Dates: June 18, 2026 – May 14, 2027

Are you ready to take the next step in your EMS career? Our EMT-to-Paramedic program is officially accepting applications!

🧑‍🏫 Schedule:
• In-person classes held on Fridays, with the occasional Thursday session
• Weekly independent online coursework required

📝 Important:
A pre-test is required for entry. Seats are limited to 24 students. You can schedule your pre-test after submitting your application.
