Recovery becomes more important as you increase training intensity. You won't absorb your training if you don't prioitize recovery as much as your workout.

Recovery is important to:
• Lock in aerobic gains
• Consolidate strength adaptations
• Keep movement smooth and efficient
• Reduce fatigue so fitness can rise
• Stay consistent as training gets more specific

Ready to add Zone 3 Training? If you don’t have ADS, your aerobic base is strong. You can start to add small amounts of Zone 3 (up to 20%) and progress sport‑specific muscular endurance. Keep 80% easy, and progress your strength toward hypertrophy or max strength.

Did you know that your Aerobic Base sets the ceiling of your Anaerobic Threshold? (ADS) Aerobic Deficiency Syndrome may be preventing your gains? If your Aerobic Threshold isn't at least 90% your Anaerobic Threshold, you may need to focus on your aerobic capacity.
If you bonk easily, have plateaued, struggle to stay in “easy” zones, feel your heart rate drift upward on long sessions, or fatigue quickly at low intensities, you might have ADS. It simply means your aerobic system isn’t strong enough yet to benefit from increased intensity.
If your Aerobic Threshold is within 10% of your Anaerobic Threshold, you’re not in ADS and can start adding Zone 3, muscular endurance, and strength progression in the Late Base Period. Otherwise, continue to keep it easy.

Keep 80% of your work easy, use the other 20% to train your weaknesses, add controlled Zone 3 only if you’re not in ADS, and progress your strength toward hypertrophy or max strength. Training should be easy, steady and repeatable to build durability.
