Dr. Haddad is one of the most recognized dentists in Michigan, partly for his extensive work with TMJ and sleep apnea sufferers. He has never been one to recognize that the word "dentist" means he should limit himself to being a "tooth doctor." Instead, he realized that the body is a complete system with complex interactions that are best understood and treated with a broader perspective.

Don’t want to wear a CPAP machine?
You might not need to.

Mild to moderate sleep apnea can often be treated more comfortably with a custom oral appliance, no hoses, masks, or noise.

In this clip from The Deep Six Podcast, Dr. Haddad explains how modern dental devices are helping patients sleep better without the bulk of CPAP.

If you’ve been diagnosed with apnea or suspect you have it, ask us about oral appliance therapy.

Do your headaches actually come from your jaw?

Most people don’t realize that chronic headaches, migraines, jaw pain, and even ear symptoms like ringing or pressure can all be caused by a misaligned bite, also known as a TMJ disorder.

Unfortunately, most physicians and even many dentists aren’t trained to recognize the connection. At our office, we treat these symptoms every day using technology that measures which muscles in your head and neck are under tension when you bite down.

If your bite is to blame, we’ll know on your first visit. And if you are a candidate for treatment, we’ll walk you through exactly how we can help reduce or eliminate those symptoms for good.

Mild sleep apnea doubles your risk of a heart attack — yet many people go undiagnosed because they don’t snore or fit the typical profile.

In this clip from The Deep Six Podcast, hear how a simple test changed everything for Dr. Haddad’s own sleep, focus, and recovery.

CPAP used to be the gold standard, but studies show a custom sleep appliance can be more effective (with fewer side effects) for mild to moderate sleep apnea.

It’s comfortable, retainer-like, and keeps your jaw from blocking your airway. For severe cases, CPAP may still be best—but only about 28% of patients can actually tolerate it. If CPAP hasn’t worked for you, a sleep appliance could be the answer.

Daily headaches and migraines are not normal.

For many patients, the real cause isn’t neurological at all; it’s their jaw and bite. TMJ disorders can put constant tension on the head and neck muscles, leading to pain that lasts for years.

The good news? With the right diagnostics, we can identify the root cause and help you finally live without the headaches.

Think posture only affects your back? Think again.

When your head tilts forward (like when you’re hunched over a desk or phone), the muscles around your jaw are forced to carry extra weight, and they weren’t built for that.

Over time, this can lead to jaw stiffness, facial tension, and even TMJ symptoms, even if your bite is healthy.
