Did some poses out on a frozen lake this weekend (I was barely ten feet out, I was too nervous to go farther haha). It was really interesting to find that one-legged postures were way more comfortable than two-legged postures with such a slick surface.
With split weight, I had to use so much more strength to hold my lower body in alignment, keeping my legs and feet from sliding around.
Usually, one-legged balances feel like I need to flex, squeeze, brace my muscles to hold a pose. But on the ice I just had to place myself wisely, and I felt like I floated!
