Im a big fan of mental health and self care. I often talk about it being a balance and I myself often struggle with this. If you find yourself struggle here is some great tips to remember. Small easy things we can try to keep our mind and body the way we need it💚✌️
Let’s stay above the wellness line.
Self care doesn’t need to be complicated, but the more we practice it…the more it becomes a habit. Some simple things can really shift those tissues in the body to keep that stress within the body at bay. And new research shows that it takes an average of 66 days to develop a habit.
When there is an increase in oxidative stress, physical ailments in the body can happen. This may look like: frequent headaches, irregular periods, bloating, increased anxiousness, fatigue, lack of motivation, etc.
What are some easy self care tips?
• Hydration. Ladies, be sure to get in at least 1/2 your body weight (in oz) every single day. I like to shoot for 2-3L/ day because that’s where I feel my best & my skin thanks me 😉
• Sleep- strive for at least 7-8 hours/night- your mind will thank you.
• Regular exercise- so many great studies that various activities can release those happy hormones. Looking to balance hormones- strive for Cardio/strength/HIIT in the Follicular phase & yoga/stretching in the Luteal phase of your cycle.
• Nutrition. It’s ok to eat some fun foods, in moderation. But try swapping out some of those with foods of the rainbow- your gut, mind, & hormones will be grateful.
• Find your stress reliever: this may be meditation, journaling, aromatherapy, nature, guided imagery or socialization- mine is a body of water & being in nature 🥰
• Utilize help & overcome that fear of asking. Talk to a mentor, a friend, health coach, provider, or a therapist. Mental health is health too.
• Unplug from social media. This can really suck you in & create almost like an addiction. It’s ok to take a step back & create boundaries.
Self care is water for your health. It involves your physical, emotional, & spiritual health. And everyone’s journey is not the same, healing & progress in not linear. We all grow & bloom at different times & that’s ok.
Need help, guidance, or not sure where to start? That’s ok, I got you…let’s bloom.
