Article 004: You are A Pioneer and the biggest obstacle on A Journey

In less about 325 words, I'm going to explain that creating a better body requires a journey where the biggest obstacle you will face is you, your inner voice and your internal demons.

Now that you've started, you are striving to become consistent, and you know how to measure your daily success (see previous articles as references).

Now it is time for you to accept and prepare for the fact that this is a journey, and sadly you are the biggest obstacle to successfully completing it.

As you go about exercising, eating better, getting rest and removing stress from your life, you're going to face opposition.
Some of that opposition is going to come from people you love. Some of it will be the weather (too hot, too cold or too perfect) or that you’re too busy, too tired or it’s either too early or too late.
Everything will become an excuse or reason not to do what you committed to do.

This is because your biggest opposition is YOU, that voice in YOUR head and YOUR INTERNAL DEMONS that don’t want you to succeed.

Those excuses about being too hot, too cold, too snowy, too perfect and your willingness to listen to others are more about what is going on within you than anything outside of you.

So, that means, if you want this journey to be successful, you must stop making excuses and start creating reasons for why you want to be successful with this journey.

You cannot succeed when you're focused on the inconvenience of today.

You MUST COMMIT TO AND BE FOCUSED on the benefits you will get tomorrow!

Benefits that include improved health, fitness, strength, mobility, energy, confidence and discipline. Which will create better results in your career, relationships and hobbies and the fact that you will live longer and better so you will enjoy travel, your grandchildren and that special person you love through a long, long retirement).

Episode 003 - "Measure the ONLY Result that matters!"

I'm going to give you the most important way to know you are successful.

We started with "Get Started" and then "Be Consistent!"

Now, I'm going to give you the secret to ultimate success that takes most people way too long to figure this out. By the time they do figure it out, they've already given up.

Are you ready? Are you ready? It is that you know what result (singular) to measure, especially when you are just getting started.

Yes, there is only ONE (1), result that matters when you begin, and that is
(drumroll please) . . .

“Did you do what you set out to do?”

I want you to think about that for a minute before you continue.

When we're talking about getting started with exercise, you are not expected to run for miles or do hundreds of pushups.

Instead of measuring how much or how far (pause for affect),

In the beginning, all I want you to do is the activity you set out to do and I don't care how much, how well or how far!

That means, congratulations you are successful if your goal was to:
1. Go for a walk and you go for that walk!
2. Drink water instead of a soda and you do drink water!
3. Walk up or down the stairs, instead of taking the escalator or elevator!
4. Eat grilled chicken instead of a hamburger!
5. Eat rice pilaf instead of French fries!
6. Eat a salad instead that amazing fish Fry on date night
(gentlemen, you are taking your lady our on "Date Night," RIGHT)!
7. Ride your stationary bike while watching the cliff hanger crime drama!
8. Not have seconds, even though the food was amazing, and you wanted to!

Whenever you do what you set out to do; CONGRATULATIONS, give yourself credit, clap your hands, my friend, you are a success!

Get Started or YOU will never FINISH!

Today, I challenge you to simply get started.

Get started on what, you ask?

I'm not sure what it is for you, but there's something that you know that you should be doing that you're not doing, and I'm challenging you to start doing it!

I specialize in helping those who are 50 and over who are planning for a great retirement to create bodies that are healthy, strong, and stay mobile so they get to enjoy traveling, retirement and those wonderful grandchildren.

If you want to take better care of yourself and your body, you need to get started before it is too late. If you choose to get started, I invite you to come back tomorrow as I will give you a tip to create a healthy, strong and mobile body that will allow you enjoy life in the short term, a long retirement and perform better for as long as you live.

In every journey, in everything that you want in life, the most important element of success is that you get started.

I'm starting this daily project without a logo, without a name, without any images and without even knowing what I'm going to talk about tomorrow.

I know that might sound weird, but here are two things I know for sure:
1- You never finish that which you NEVER get started!
2- It is impossible to make progress if you don't get started!

So, tomorrow in lesson two, I'm going to come back with another tip to help and encourage you to simply GET STARTED!

160 pushups & 65 chin ups.
