I’m so proud of my client that I have to share this story.

A few years ago, Janet came to me with a problem. She had just moved into her new apartment, gotten everything put in its place and found she was not happy with it. It seemed there was not enough space and her home office was crowding her living room space. It was especially challenging because of how it was impacting the rest of her life as well. She wasn't sleeping well, she didn't enjoy cooking in her new kitchen and found her work productivity being challenged as well.

While a part of her was hopeful, another part of her felt like she was going to be stuck like this forever.

After a few weeks of working with me, Janet had a big shift. She found herself enjoying cooking for herself again, was sleeping much better and enjoyed working from home much more because she could concentrate and avoid distractions.

She attributes this shift to our work together. She feels that the organization we implemented, changing her desk position and some decluttering in her bedroom had the biggest impact.

And now, Janet's life is strikingly different. She is creative, productive and most of all, she LOVES her apartment. And this is not just any old apartment, this is her HOME.

I’m so proud of Janet and I’m so grateful I get to do this work I love for a living.

I never expected this to happen…

Even though we had worked for years to buy the house of our dreams, life was difficult when I woke up in my new, primary bedroom.

The room was beautiful, but I felt out of place. Not just in our bedroom, but in the whole house. I woke up feeling that way and went to bed feeling the same way. My worst moment dealing with this problem was when my husband saw how much I was struggling in our new, hard earned home. He loved it, and he wanted me to as well.

I know what it’s like to struggle with discontent after achieving a dream and reaching your goal. I know what it's like to want something, work for it, achieve it and then feel let down after receiving it.

Because years ago, that struggle consumed my life.

I know what it’s like to wake up and know you're stuck with your decision and to lay down at night and think about it. Day after day. So, I know how painful it can be.

And, I know what it’s like to be on the other side of it.

To wake up, loving my surroundings, and feeling grateful about the amazing things in my life. I go to bed at night thinking about how comfortable I am, and how supported I feel, all thanks to Feng Shui.

The best part is I love my home. I'm grateful for the decision we made, for the goal we reached and the accomplishments we made. Not only in my home but in other areas of life as well!

Even though I am certified in two different schools of Feng Shui, and have been a Professional Feng Shui Consultant for over 9 years, and have helped countless clients, I have to admit that I’ve been playing small and not yet making the impact I know that I’m here to make…yet.

Believe it or not, I'm actually an introverted and private person, and I tend to stay comfortable by flying under the radar and not drawing too much attention to myself.

Because I'm introverted and don't like to draw attention, I haven’t shared much about my story and why I'm so passionate about my work.

But that changes this week!

In the countdown to Thanksgiving, here are 3 New Simple Things you can do to give your kitchen the energy reset it needs for this busy month:

1) Clean your stove top. If you have a gas stove, clean all the burners as well, even the ones you don't use. Remember the stove represents wealth and you want to keep it clean and working well.

2) Toss expired pantry and refrigerator items. You don't want to keep stale, heavy energy in your kitchen, or anywhere else in your home for that matter!

3) Clear one counter completely. Be practical and realistic about what you keep on your counters, especially if space is at a premium. Even if you have ample space, you want to avoid a cluttered look.

Your kitchen will be getting a good workout for the next two months, so keep things neat and the energy uplifting so you are inspired and feel comfortable working in this space. Your November self will thank you!
