Congratulations to Dr. Lin Saunders (MS ’88, GenDen ’80, ’76) on his retirement! He has shaped the fields of geriatric and special care dentistry and inspired generations of residents through his dedication to compassionate patient care.

Ralph “Lin” Saunders, Jr., DDS, MS still remembers the patient who changed the course of his life — an elderly woman, soft-spoken yet worn down. She had seen several dentists before him, searching for someone who would listen.

Making headlines: An EIOH/URMC study linking maternal stress during pregnancy and timing of infant tooth eruption was featured in multiple news outlets, including Newsweek, New York Post and Neuroscience News.

At 6 months, infants whose mothers had the highest cortisol levels averaged four more teeth than those with the lowest.
