Tuesday night, SE EMS Medical Direction Consortium Instructors Alex, Dave, and Nicole were present for Byron First Responder's training night. The evening's topics included Handtevy - Pediatric Emergency Standards, Inc. introduction and Hemorrhage Control tactics (tourniquets, pressure dressings, impalement care, and wound packing.)

We were able to get the new hemorrhage control equipment prepped and ready for training nights!

All the SE EMS equipment is available to all the SE Regional Agencies. If you see something that would be of value to your department, reach out to the office to arrange pick-up and/or allow one of us to come to your department and conduct guest speaker training nights!

Today we had a nice surprise as we were visited by retired reserve officer Gerhardt Kohrs!

Gerhardt, who dedicated many years as a Lake City reserve officer, presented the Police Department and the Ambulance Service with the kind gift of a memorial flag. This thoughtful donation holds extra meaning, as Gerhardt's late wife was a dedicated member of the ambulance service, and his daughter, Linda, continues that legacy as a current Lake City Ambulance member.

Thank you, Gerhardt, for this heartfelt gift of recognition to our community's first responders!
