The Project East program at Jewish Home has brought 38 East High School students to Jewish Home over the last four years to participate in the Aging Services Career Exploration Internship program.
Last month 12 students were awarded certificates of completion for the 15-week program designed to educate about the physical, mental, and psychological aspects of aging. Students learn about a variety of career opportunities, including nursing, human resources, social work, nutrition, physical therapy, and recreational art therapy by shadowing staff, conducting their own research, and experiential learning across disciplines.
We applaud the students and thank Christine S. for coordinating the successful program at Jewish Home! We are proud to note that several Project East graduates have joined the Jewish Home staff following their high school graduation.
