e’re thrilled to recommend “Disability Intimacy” by Alice Wong— a powerful collection of essays that challenges assumptions and opens essential conversations about love, care, and desire in the disability community.

When trauma lives in the body, it can shape how we experience intimacy, desire, and connection.

Healing is possible. Trauma-informed sensate focus is one tool to help individuals reconnect with their bodies through mindfulness with attention to maintaining safety in the body. The focus remains on experiencing sensations in the present moment.

You deserve to feel safe in your body and in your relationships. If you’re navigating the s*xual effects of trauma, know that specialized support exists. Healing happens at your pace, with compassion and expertise guiding the way 💙

Menopause is a natural part being in an aging body that menstruates and marks the end of a person’s reproductive years. Menopause asks so much of your body and mind, and the most powerful thing you can do is meet yourself with compassion and self-love 💜

Your well-being matters. The hot flashes, sleep changes, mood shifts, and everything in between—they’re real, and they deserve care. Prioritizing yourself means honoring what your body needs right now: rest when you’re tired, movement that feels good, support when you need it, and grace for the days that feel harder, and invest in pleasure in your body as it is.

At Rochester Center for Sexual Wellness, we’re here to support every phase of your journey with compassion, expertise, and genuine care!

Beyond the stereotypes: Can kink and B**M actually support personal growth? 🧠✨

Research suggests yes!

This , we’re opening conversations about why s*xual wellness includes ALL expressions of desire, including kink and B**M!

When practiced consensually and mindfully, B**M can offer unique ways to heal and grow by…

🔹 Building trust and communication skills
🔹 Exploring vulnerability in a controlled, safe environment
🔹 Releasing stress
🔹 Reclaiming agency
🔹 Deepening intimacy and self-awareness

The key? Consent, communication, and community support.

Kink isn’t therapy, but for many, it’s been a powerful tool for self-discovery and connection.

Curious about exploring kink safely? Our practitioners are here to support your journey without judgment.

Relationship-specific mindfulness—the practice of being fully present with your partner—does more than strengthen your bond. When we bring mindful awareness to our relationships, we create space for authentic connection. This isn’t about perfection—it’s about showing up, noticing, and responding with intention

According to the research, Relationship-Specific Mindfulness (RSM) is considered helpful for enhancing couples’ well-being and navigating the complexities of intimate relationships

Your relationship deserves your presence. And you deserve the well-being that comes from genuine connection đź’«
