In Loving Memory of Annette “Boop” Wallace
Today, with heavy hearts, we share that one of our own, our dear friend and colleague, Annette “Boop” Wallace, was taken off life support last evening, passing at 730 pm. We were blessed to be a part of the Donor Walk to honor the selflessness of organ donation. Hospital staff members lined the hallways as she was taken into the operating room to start the process. It is an absolutely wonderful way to acknowledge the donor in their last minutes before they use their own body to heal others.
The love for Annette was evident at her Donor Walk last evening. Along with her ‘blood family’, there were 11 Northgate Staff Members-both past and present. This particularly touched my heart and shows how much she meant to all of us!
Netty, as many lovingly called her, was a huge fan of the Vikings, was always cold, loved John Hardy’s, loved animals, and drank more milk than anyone I have ever met in my life. She did not like having her picture taken, nor did she enjoy receiving gifts. (Hiding in the picture below!)
She loved ACDC and Tom Petty, and did not get along well with computers. Annette served our patients with all of her heart and soul. She became so much more than just a team member—she was family. She brought warmth, kindness, and genuine care to everyone she met. She was very dedicated, hard working, and the calmest person I’ve ever met-nothing made her frazzled!
She was the longest-running staff member at Northgate with 31 years under her belt. She began with the original owner, Dr. Steve Fetzer, back in 1994, followed by Dr. Troy Amdahl, and Dr. Todd Buchanan.
Dr. Buchanan and Annette had a special friendship after working together for 29 years. Dr. B always called her Boop for her love of Betty Boop. She would ‘brave snowy rides’ with him in the winter (as she did not like to drive) just so she could continue to show up for the people she cared about so deeply. They rode together to and from work on countless occasions, no doubt listening to music loudly in his truck! She was always there to serve patients in any way she could. That was just who she was: selfless, loyal, and dedicated. She touched countless lives with her compassion and kindness, and she will be missed beyond measure—not only by her family and friends, but by her entire Northgate family.
Annette is survived by her significant other, Kevin, and their daughter, Adrian. She had six siblings. She was preceded in death by her parents, who she missed terribly since their passing. She is no doubt wrapped in their arms today, being welcomed into Heaven.
May Annette/Netty/ Boop be celebrating in heaven with her parents. She will make a beautiful Angel with her new wings.
We love you, Boop. Thank you for everything and for being a big part of our lives. ❤️
