A lot of that understanding comes from the work of Dr. Bruno Chikly, a physician and researcher who helped modernize the study of the lymphatic system and developed the method known as Lymphatic Drainage Therapy (LDT).

Pressure changes + congestion can be a perfect recipe for head tension and migraines — which is why we’re revisiting one of our favorite simple, cozy home remedies.

✨ Steam Inhalation for Drainage & Head Relief ✨

When your head feels heavy, your sinuses feel “stuck,” or the weather has you feeling off, steam inhalation can help warm tissues, encourage drainage, and calm the nervous system.

How to do it:
🌿 Pour hot (not boiling) water into a bowl
🌿 Add 1–2 drops of essential oil like R.C., Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, or Lavender
🌿 Lean over the bowl and create a towel “tent” over your head and shoulders
🌿 Eyes closed, breathe slowly and deeply for 5–10 minutes

💧 Pro tip: follow with hydration or gentle lymph support to keep things moving.
