During Child Abuse Prevention Month, it’s important to remember that prevention begins with support, education, and connection. When families have the resources they need, children are more likely to grow up feeling safe, supported, and valued.
At SPCC, children and families in our community can access programs designed to strengthen relationships and build resilience, including:
• Family Trauma Intervention Program – trauma-informed counseling and support for children and caregivers navigating experiences such as violence, loss, or grief.
• Healthy Families Monroe – helping caregivers build strong, nurturing relationships with their children.
• Mary Ellen Institute - providing training and consultation to child-serving providers across disciplines.
• Supervised and Therapeutic Visitation Programs – creating safe environments that help children maintain healthy connections with caregivers.
• Teenage Parent Support Services – providingguidance and resources for young parents as they build stable, healthy families.
• Women, Infants & Children – providing nutrition and breastfeeding support to expectant parents and young children across our communities.
These programs reflect SPCC’s mission to partner with children and families, advocate for their well-being, and strengthen relationships that help communities thrive.
Because every family deserves support and every child deserves the opportunity to grow up safe.
