Every six minutes, a patient at Mayo Clinic needs a transfusion of blood or blood products. A simple blood donation can save the life of a child with leukemia, restore the strength of a cancer patient or provide a critical transfusion to an accident victim. There is no substitute for this life-saving gift, so our patients rely upon the caring spirit of blood donors like you. Volunteer donors are e

specially needed during the summer months, when an increase in elective and emergency surgeries means the demand for blood and blood products is also higher. Please consider making an appointment to donate blood today, and encourage friends, co-workers and family members to do so as well. The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology (DLMP) Blood Donor Champions Challenge brings work units together by donating blood or platelets through the Mayo Clinic Blood Donor Program. 🩸

You don’t need to be a DLMP team member to participate. If you’re a fan or friend of someone in DLMP, you can donate and support their team by selecting “fan/friend of the unit” on the challenge slip and choosing the DLMP team you wish to support.
