Today, we had a heartwarming reunion at the Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service in St. Cloud. Operations Supervisor Elie and Assistant Supervisor Kaitlyn recently ran into Thomas Lahr-Moulds, who shared that he was saved by our dedicated crews after a cardiac arrest in 2022. Thomas wanted to personally thank the team involved in his care. Over coffee and pastries, Thomas was able to reconnect with some of the heroes who made a difference that day and even revisited an ambulance like the one where his life was saved. We are incredibly grateful for the teamwork shown by the City of St. Cloud, MN St. Cloud Police Department, St. Cloud Fire Department, and Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service. Moments like this remind us why we do what we do—saving lives together.

Last week, our team members in Duluth took part in the Essentia Health-Superior MCI Drill. The exercise simulated a motor vehicle crash with trauma and hazmat exposure, including an organophosphate scenario that required specialized treatment plans from our crews. We truly appreciated the opportunity to collaborate with our healthcare partners and practice responding to complex situations we don’t encounter every day. Training together keeps our skills sharp and our community safer!

Congratulations to the 6 graduates of our 2nd EMT in Training program! All participants successfully completed their National Registry written and practical exam on their first attempt and will begin their role as EMTs with Mayo Clinic Ambulance on November 3rd.
