Join us in supporting Seviyn and her family 💜

Seviyn, a child that attends Daystar, was born with heterotaxy, a rare condition that impacts how vital organs develop and function. Her journey has required ongoing medical care, strong advocacy, and incredible resilience. While she’s home and making progress, her path continues to include long-term care and uncertainty, something many families navigating rare conditions understand all too well.

On Sunday, May 24th at 10 AM, her family invites our community to come together for the Sevyn Strong Heterotaxy Awareness Walk.

This walk is about more than one day. It is about building awareness, supporting families facing complex medical journeys, and creating a community where no one feels alone.

We walk for Seviyn and her strength.
We walk in honor of the children whose stories continue to inspire change and understanding.

It was a great day at the Festival of Inclusion! Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello! It was so nice seeing so many familiar faces, including current families and alumni.

It was wonderful to see so many agencies come together in one place. Our community truly shows up for families and the level of support available is something really special. We are so extremely grateful to be part of such a strong network of support.

A big thank you as well to the wonderful staff who represented our program at the event. We’re so grateful for the heart and dedication you bring every day. 💙

Today is Giving Tuesday, we’re celebrating the courage and resilience of the children at Daystar Kids — New York's only Pediatric Complex Care and Learning Center for children ages 4 months to 5 years old.
Many of our children have overcome life-threatening illnesses. But after long hospital stays and ongoing medical treatments, they often need additional support to catch up during the most critical years of early learning.
Daystar Kids provides that support.
Our dedicated teams of educators, therapists, and pediatric healthcare providers work side-by-side to help each child build developmental skills, gain strength, and grow in confidence.

What a fantastic day at our Annual Pirate Toy Fund Party & Picnic! ☀️

A huge THANK YOU to The Pirate Toy Fund, Kinecta, and Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation for putting on such a fun and memorable event for our families. The sunshine was perfect, the smiles were nonstop, and the day was filled with laughter and joy.

🍔 Shoutout to The Crew’s Grill for the delicious food and to Kona Ice for keeping everyone cool with those sweet frozen treats — because who doesn’t love a cold Kona Ice on a sunny day?
