⭐️Power in numbers and in every voice!⭐️

Members of 13thirty Cancer Connect’s PAC Program (Positive AYA Connection) were proud to take part in the American Cancer Society’s Cancer Action Day in Albany!🗣️📣

We showed up, spoke out, and were reminded just how powerful our stories can be when we share them together.💙🦋

Special thanks to for letting us be part of this empowering day!

Today we’re saying “see you later” to our incredible Program Director, Katelyn 💙 Although we’ll miss her in the office, we look forward to having her on our medical advisory board.

Your compassion, dedication, and ability to make every young adult feel seen and supported have left a lasting impact on this community.🦋

We’ll miss you so much and are always cheering you on in what’s next!🫶

Lesson 2: confidence✨

Though others looked at her with pity and Lauren held her breath, Melissa swam the length of the pool unassisted. It’s not about proving others wrong - it’s about proving to yourself you can.

Hi!👋I'm Irene - I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer.

Here's how I'd describe 13thirty in one word: understanding💙

I want people to know that the loud support people give a the start of treatment is nice, but the consistent support throughout treatment helped the most. While I didn't always have the energy for conversations, an "I'm thinking of you!" text always brightened my day.

13thirty has given me a community of people my own age who have a better understanding of what I've been through. At a time in my life where plans are put on hold and so much was out of my control, having this community helped me feel less isolated. Rowing has been my favorite program!🦋

Hi! I'm Sophie👋 - I was diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma at age 31.

Here's how I'd describe 13thirty in one word: camaraderie💙

I want people to know that having cancer as a teen or young adult hits different. Because it's rare, the systems in place aren't really made for us. As a result, we often experience delays in diagnosis and treatment, worse outcomes, and scars that are not physical but psychological, emotional, and spiritual as well.

At 13thirty, being in the same room with peers who "just get it" allows me to feel normal for once - it's a space to talk about experiences, fears, trauma, and challenges that only other AYAs can fully understand. At the same time, 13thirty provides opportunities to be goofy, have fun, and let go of the "cancer" label for a little while.🦋

Cancer and comedy? These words don’t usually go together—but sometimes…you just gotta laugh.

Sometimes, You Just Gotta Laugh!™ was created to empower our members, build confidence, and foster healing through humor.🦋

Our incredible AYA stand-up comedians are stepping back on stage for 2️⃣ shows this May (hosted by this dynamic duo🔥) to share original sets inspired by their own cancer experiences, reframing even the darkest moments with honesty and laughter.🎤

13thirty Cancer Connect is proud to recognize April as Adolescent & Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Awareness Month!💙💚

AYAs are often caught in the "great divide" between pediatric and adult medicine. This segment of cancer patients continues to experience serious gaps in age-appropriate, coordinated services, and support.

For 25 years, we've been "making a difference, making things better" for teens and young adults with cancer.
