Gibbons Optical Gibbons Optical is an independent, locally owned, full service optical store providing great ophthalmic services, eyewear, eye exams and customer service.

We offer unique designer and brand name frames, as well as a full range of contact lens options. Gibbons has been serving Rochester and surrounding communities since 1950.

We wanted to let you know that we’ll be closed from Friday 8-30 to Monday 9-2. We’ll be relaxing and recharging for Labor Day. But no worries, we’ll be back on Tuesday to help you see and look your best.

Gibbons Optical will be closed today, Friday 11-24 so that our staff may have an extended holiday with their family and friends. We will be open our normal hours next week starting at 9:00 on Tuesday. Gobble, gobble.

To honor the holiday weekend and enjoy the winding down of summer, Gibbons Optical will be closed Friday September 2nd through Monday September 5th. See you on Tuesday the 6th.

For Independence Day 2022 Gibbons Optical will be closed from Friday, July 1st through Monday, July 4th. Go watch a parade, go on a picnic, or take a walk in a state park. Most importantly, stay safe and wear your sunglasses.

Gibbons Optical is kicking off the Minnesota summer by adding Friday, May 27th as an extra day off to the Memorial Day Holiday weekend. Staff will return to the office on Tuesday, May 31st.

So as we near day 760 of the pandemic, Dr. Bjorngaard has decided that the staff of Gibbons Optical needed to take a little spring break. OH, not together, that would be weird. Gibbons Optical will be closed on Friday April 15th through Monday April 18th so the staff may enjoy a longer that normal weekend. Our apologies for any inconvenience. Come see us on Tuesday please.

If you have an emergency and need to leave a message with Dr. Bjorngaard, please leave a message at phone number 507 722-2749 and she will get in touch with you as soon as she is able. If you were trying to call and leave a message that is not an emergency, please call the office 507 288-6964 during our regular business hours or send an email to gibbonsoptical@gmail.com.

Just as a reminder, the CDC and Minnesota Optometric Association continues to recommend masks in healthcare facilities, so don't forget your mask or you may need to borrow one of our washable cloth masks with palm trees, flamingos or chili peppers printed on them for extra COVID spice.

It has been about a year since we reopened Gibbons after the shutdown. Our amazing staff has been smiling while greeting you the whole year long, even if you couldn't see it under their masks. To thank them for their hard work navigating this past year safely, and to honor Memorial Day, Gibbons will be closed Friday, May 28 through Monday, May 31. Thank you for your business. - Dr. Karen
