A huge thank you to Anna Exford and Students at St. John Fisher University for organizing a collection drive and donating items to our programs this Holiday season! Your support is appreciated, and we are so grateful to you all!

They were able to put together hygiene kits along with several other donations for programs like Hope Place, which is a peer run living room program that provides support to adults experiencing difficulties with their resilience, recovery, and wellness. Items like these are always appreciated and help the Villa provide support and basic necessities to our guests.

Thank you again, we are so overwhelmed with gratitude!

“Snell Farm came to Villa on 12/5 and the excitement was in the air! Both teams warming up made it look like this was going to be a pretty intense game!

Snell Farm opened a major lead in the first quarter leading into the second. Villa then proceeded to lock it in and came with in two points. The game was very back and forth with both teams giving it their all!!!

In the end Snell Farm took the win with 49 over Villa 31! A huge sign of sportsmanship as teams lined up and slapped up each other without really having to be told. Both teams just socializing positively with one another.

Did we win....no
Did we lose....no

We succeeded as we had a giant positive outcome regardless of the score” - Coach Brian

Villa of Hope is proud to announce our new Director of Behavioral Health, Patricia Flemmings, LCSW!

Patricia, originally from Brooklyn, has always wanted to be in a helping profession. She states that she is passionate about people with the belief that they have so much to give, and she loves the opportunity to be able to learn from others. She credits her upbringing and Caribbean parents for instilling these values in her at such a young age. She came to Rochester to settle down with her family and to gain new experiences. Since the move, she is still trying to navigate the new culture and surrounding community but is so grateful to be working here and continue supporting vulnerable populations.

Patricia’s background includes work with the foster care system, schools, group homes, the jail system, and private practices. She says her goal is to continue to increase her knowledge and do more work within the community.

When asked what inspires her professionally, Patricia states that the growth of others and the transformation of where people start to who they become inspires her to continue to do her job. She says that the happiness of others gives her passion.

Patricia states that as employees of the Villa, we must stay committed to empowering the populations we serve to instill hope through trauma informed care, sanctuary, and strong leadership. She is a firm believer in modeling these values every day and that you can’t preach something you do not practice yourself.

She oversees the clinical staff of Living Hope Treatment Center, the school, and Behavioral Health at Tuckahoe. Her goal for the Villa is to see more community, leadership taking action and participating more in programs, and using resources to provide for all clients.

Patricia notes that she has had incredible support during her time at the Villa and highlights the importance of self-care in this profession. She’s excited to dive into all the programs the Villa has to offer and encourages all staff to do the same.

We’d like to welcome Patricia and we look forward to seeing her dive into this new role!

On Wednesday, November 19th, the Villa of Hope Wildcats played an away basketball game against the O’Connor Academy. 🏀

The team had a great time, even shooting hoops during half time with students from the O’Connor Academy.

Administration from O’Connor complimented our youth and told Coach Brian Cayden Smith that “they were extremely happy with how the Villa of Hope kids showed sportsmanship and how fantastic they behaved!”

When asked what the score was when they returned, no one knew. They had such a great time, they never got the ending score!

Staff that supported the team: Nick Annechino-coach, Matthew Dambra-coach, Kaitlyn Cruz, Regina Robinson, Brian Cayden Smith-coach.
