Recently, Hamlet “visited” New York City through virtual reality — and followed it up by making homemade bagels (of course!). 🥯

The best part? A brand-new resident who had just moved in — originally from Brooklyn — was able to show the group her old house and neighborhood. It was such a special and meaningful experience for everyone!

This stop: the 1930s and the era of the Great Depression. While we touched on the challenges of the time, we focused even more on the resilience, creativity, and silver linings that carried people through.

And of course… we had to sample a popular pie from the era. 🥧
Can anyone guess what this simple-but-surprisingly-delicious dessert is? Hint: one of the main ingredients is in its name… 💧

We appreciate him coming out to speak directly with our seniors about the issues that matter most to them — including Social Security, insurance, and other important topics that impact their daily lives. He took the time to answer thoughtful questions and have meaningful conversation, which our residents truly value.
