Caren Calamita () is offering a one-time Yarn Circle on Sunday, December 7th from 10:30am-Noon at Sustainable Wellness in the Village Gate. RSVP by Monday December 1st as limited slots are available.

This is a great opportunity for folks who feel intimidated by social situations to break out of their shell a bit more in a group with fellow neurodivergent folks with similar interests.

🌈 How to turn your sketches into stickers! 🌈✨
Supplies:
- clear tape
- parchment paper
- scissors
- your sketches

🌈 Step 1. Place a layer of clear tape sticky side down on the parchment paper, slightly overlapping to ensure full coverage. Take care to keep this layer from creasing/folding.

🌈 Step 2. Place your sketches on top (taping them down can help keep them in place). Add more tape over top, slightly overlapping the tape, and making sure to keep this from creasing/folding as well.

🌈 Step 3. On the back of the parchment paper, a pencil may be used to draw a guiding line to help with cutting your images out.

🌈Step 4. Cut your images out, making sure to leave a border!

To use: Gently peel off the parchment paper backing and place your stickers wherever you'd like!

Sarah B, LCAT mentioned that a current common theme she has noticed in clients has been deep feelings of shame, or an inherent belief something is wrong with them. Shame is a learned emotion that often stems from negative and even traumatic life experiences.

If you’re looking to reduce shame related to self-image and weight check out Sarah B’s new Mindfulness for Binge Eating group at https://spottedrabbitstudio.com/events/

"A coping skill I love is called 'forest bathing'. This is NOT going and taking a bath in a forest, it's the idea of immersing yourself in nature. All you need to do is go someplace green, whether that's a forest path or a flower bed near your home, and mindfully spend time there. You can walk around, and utilize your senses to connect with the nature around you. Research says there are SO MANY benefits involved in this type of coping." - Art Therapist, Sarah M

"'Show Fish' was created in response to an intervention based off of the television show 'Severance'. The Show Fish represents the 'innie,' or the version of self that exists while the client is at their workplace. This clay piece was created over the span of two sessions and has helped open a dialogue about character traits, habits, and emotions of the client in and out of their work environment." -Art Therapist, Kamryn

"It's very important for my creative practice to have a consistent project to come back to and work on, such as a series of pieces or currently, a coloring book to complete. I've been really enjoying the "Magical Woodland Coloring Book" by Kate Pellerin as a part of my daily self-care, mindfulness, and personal artmaking practice. It's been great to bust out my markers and colored pencils, and enhance the already whimsical scenes of a great artist!" -Art Therapist, Lyrah
