🇺🇸 Tee It Up for the Troops in Rochester Supports Seasons Hospice

Tee It Up for the Troops in Rochester Event Chair Lynn Clarey stopped by yesterday to present a check to Seasons from the funds they raised in 2025. In addition to providing volunteers at the event and stuffing the golfer swag bags (with something from us as well), we are one of the beneficiaries of this annual golf event that supports organizations that help veterans.

When a member of the military comes home, they face a variety of challenges. Because of this, one of the six pillars of support of Tee It Up for the Troops is Family and Caregiver Support. Seasons Hospice supports veterans in our care through the We Honor Veterans Program where we offer vet-to-vet visits as well as special recognition events, including annual Veteran’s Day commemorations at local senior living facilities.

Thank you to all the supporters and volunteers that make Tee It Up such a wonderful event. 💕

Seasons Hospice is proud to serve Rochester and the surrounding communities with premier, community-centered end-of-life care. Our interdisciplinary team provides holistic support—physical, emotional, and spiritual—offering comfort and compassion when patients and families need it most.

Because of Medicare sequestration, we receive only 98% reimbursement for the care we provide. Donor support is essential to help close this gap and sustain the extra services that mean so much to our patients and families—music therapy, massage therapy, pet therapy teams, and our We Honor Veterans program. These are not covered by Medicare, but they make a world of difference.

🐾 Meet Maisie, Our Amazing Therapy Pup!

Say hello to Maisie, an eight-year-old English springer spaniel mix whose gentle spirit and soft, snuggly fur have brought comfort to our Seasons patients, families, and staff since June 2017.

Off the clock, she loves long walks, squeaky toys, and hanging out with her cat brother, Sushi. 😺🐶

Maisie’s journey to us is nothing short of incredible. She was rescued by English Springer Rescue America (ESRA) in 2015 after she and her sisters were nearly shot when their breeder was shut down. Thankfully, she was taken in by a loving foster family—and her sweet, sensitive nature quickly shone through. With patience, training, and lots of love, Maisie blossomed from a fearful pup into a confident “people person” and a wonderful therapy dog.

Since her owner and handler, Jean, adopted her in 2015, and they volunteer not only with Seasons Hospice but also visit the Sisters at Assisi Heights. 🧡

We’re so grateful for Maisie, Jean, and all of our dedicated pet therapy teams who bring healing through paws and love. 🐾💕

Through our We Honor Veterans Program, in partnership with the National Alliance for Care at Home (the Alliance), we’re proud to meet the unique needs of dying Veterans with compassion and gratitude.

Our special visits offer Veterans and their families meaningful opportunities to share memories, tell stories, and find comfort together.

💐 A Bouquet of Flowers is a Bouquet of Joy 💐

Thanks to Trader Joe's-Rochester,MN we have an abundance of flowers each week to fill vases of joy to bring to our patients.

We are currently in need of medium to large vases—approx 8-10 inches tall, 3-4 inches wide. Though we will accept any size you want to donate.
