The Personal Perspective by Heidi Seaberg, NP

As a Nurse Practitioner at Seasons Hospice, I’m grateful to work alongside an incredible team—nurses, volunteers, caregivers, and families—who all bring heart to the hospice journey.

Every day, I see our team go above and beyond, whether it’s through a gentle touch, a song, a prayer, or simply being present for our patients.

My favorite part of this work is connecting with patients and families, hearing their stories, and building real relationships.

I’m honored to help manage symptoms and bring comfort at the end of life, supporting each patient’s wishes and goals.

One special memory: visiting a patient at home and seeing her beautiful art collection, lovingly shared by her husband. Moments like these remind me why I’m so proud to be part of Seasons.

Anthony shares about his favorite song, "What a Wonderful World has always been one of my favorite songs to sing because it invites me to slow down and notice the beauty woven into everyday life. When I sing about ‘trees of green, red roses too,’ or ‘the bright blessed day, the dark sacred night,’ I’m reminded that joy and peace can be found in the simplest of moments. And the line about ‘friends shaking hands, saying how do you do’ always makes me think of the power of kindness and human connection. Singing this song feels like I'm offering a gentle reminder—to myself and to anyone listening—that even in a complicated world, there is still so much to be grateful for." 🎶

Yes, I think to myself....what a wonderful world. 🌍

Volunteers like Anthony are truly the Hearts + Hands of Seasons.

Every Tuesday, our awesome friends from Ability Building Community - ABC join us to help with office projects.

Last week, they brought their creativity and colored these amazing hands with hearts.

Now, our conference room is brighter and filled with love, thanks to their beautiful artwork.

Aren’t these hand decorations just the best? We love having ABC with us!

Let’s give a big shoutout to our ABC friends for making our Tuesdays extra special!

Our music therapists find fulfillment through the personal connections that are sparked in each visit.

Enhancing each patient’s comfort and well-being, our therapists help with symptom distraction, enjoyable social time, or legacy projects.

From small moments like an isolated person lifting their head and opening their eyes in response to music, to relief from pain or anxiety, or talking through challenges and joys together—music therapy can be incredibly enriching.

Music therapy is different from music in general: in the end, the goal is not the music, the ultimate goal is healing comfort for the patient and loved ones.

Our board-certified music therapists, Julie + Erin, are simply the best 🎶

🐾 Meet Cooper, the gentleman of therapy dogs, and his devoted handler Rory!

🌟 Bringing comfort and smiles to Seasons Hospice patients since 2017.

🐶 Cooper, a calm Australian Shepherd, was specially trained for pet therapy after his handler saw his gentle spirit.

🏡 From homes to care centers, Cooper and Rory visit patients weekly—spreading joy, hugs, and furry cuddles.

💖 What started as volunteering has become a heartwarming journey of connection and fulfillment for both Cooper and Rory.

🙏 “Being a volunteer for Seasons Hospice has been inspiring and satisfying to the soul.” – Rory

Friends + Family gathered at Pine Island Golf Course on a beautiful August day for a Memorial Golf Tournament to remember Cathy Rossow. ☀

Cathy’s spirit was truly present in every swing, smile, and putt. 🪽

A highlight of the day was when Cathy’s friend made an unforgettable hole-in-one—a moment that felt like a sign from Cathy herself. ⛳️
