Today's the Day to ROC the Day for United Way and Harbor House! Last month we were able to purchase a second house thanks to a generous donation from the seller Richard Rowe. This is a big step forward for us because we will be able to help many more families in need of temporary housing. But it's also a new challenge--there'll be renovation expenses, more utilities and maintenance costs, additional staff needed; more household supplies like toilet paper and trash bags to buy! So, we need your help NOW more than ever! Remember, even a $30 donation will pay for one night's lodging at Harbor House, but ANY amount will help and be greatly appreciated! This week, in the spirit of Thanksgiving, we are feeling immensely grateful for Colleen's Cardio Crew and their generous donations to Harbor House! As a result of the drive they hosted, we have received many (much needed) donations of food, paper products, cleaning products, towels, pillows, blankets, and more. Thank you to Colleen's Cardio Crew and all of our wonderful donors and volunteers who make Harbor House possible!

Shout out to Causewave Community Partners Partners and their Grants Capacity Building Initiative. Harbor House attended an excellent class led by Ray Wentworth to help non-profits apply for grants!

It’s great to get some coaching to help our fundraising team meet our goals.

Thanks to local funders ESL Charitable Foundation, Greater Rochester Health Foundation, and Rochester Area Community Foundation for funding this initiative..

A huge thank you to Rochester Rotary Club for their help in getting Harbor House ready for winter! This past Sunday, members of Rochester Rotary Club volunteered to help out with some outdoor work such as raking leaves and winterization. We are so thankful for our wonderful volunteers and all the hard work they do- just look at that big pile of leaves!

Harbor House has several decorative anchors on display because we help to keep people attached and grounded when the storms of life are raging.

Anchors keep a boat steady in a surging sea. At Harbor House we keep families steady during a medical crisis by providing a convenient, supportive, and affordable place to stay and hopefully “ride out the storm.”

Did you know you can 'Adopt-a-Day' at Harbor House? By "adopting" a day, you support Harbor House while honoring a loved one.

To do so, first select a day of significance in memory, honor, or celebration of someone special. A $100 donation will allow you to adopt that day.

On the day you have adopted, your special person's name will appear on our Adopt-a-Day board on display at Harbor House (pictured) and on the Harbor House website front page. You also have the option to customize your tribute with a picture, poem, message, quote. etc.
