After a fat transfer (like BBL or breast fat grafting), surgeons use the phrase “feed the fat” meaning,

👉🏾Keep your body well-nourished and stable so the transferred fat cells can survive. Eating HEALTHY, BALANCED, WHOLEFOOD and don’t try to loose weight!

What’s actually happening biologically

When fat is transferred, those fat cells:
•Lose their original blood supply
•Have to survive on oxygen diffusion at first
•Then must build a new blood supply (revascularization)

If they successfully reconnect, they live permanently. If not, the body absorbs them.

So does eating more fat help?
Not directly.

Eating more fats like avocado, olive oil, nuts, etc.:
•❌ Does not specifically “feed” the transferred fat cells
•❌ Does not selectively make the grafted area grow

Fat cells grow when you gain overall body fat — not because you ate fat in particular.

What does help fat survival?
✔️ Eat enough calories (don’t diet right after surgery)
✔️ Adequate protein (for tissue healing and blood vessel growth)
✔️ Healthy fats in moderation (for overall healing, not enlargement)
✔️ Stay hydrated
✔️ Avoid smoking / ni****ne (this is HUGE for blood supply)

What can hurt fat survival?
•Aggressive dieting
•Rapid weight loss
•Nicotine use
•Excessive pressure on the grafted area
•Severe inflammation

The truth about size
If you:
•Maintain your weight → most surviving fat stays
•Lose weight → transferred fat shrinks
•Gain weight → transferred fat can enlarge (just like the rest of your body)

Manual lymphatic therapy is NOT 🚫

Deep pressure massage 🙅🏾‍♀️
More pressure doesn’t mean better results — the lymphatic system responds best to light touch.

Painful or aggressive work 🙅🏾‍♀️
MLT should feel soothing and supportive, not uncomfortable.

A one-size-fits-all approach🙅🏾‍♀️
Each session is customized to the body’s needs that day.

It’s intentional, gentle, and science-based care.
DM me if you’re curious whether manual lymphatic therapy is right for you 🤍

To NOT rely on social media for clients. For awhile now, as a small business owner, keeping up with social media post has been a job within a job that I no longer care to give my energy to. I want to go back to relying more on word of mouth. Post when I feel like it and make it fun again.

And the answer is pretty simple, Tension.

C-section scars are usually thin because the skin is put back together with very little tension. The incision is low, small, and the skin isn’t being stretched much afterward, so it can heal neatly.

Tummy tuck scars tend to widen because there’s a lot more tension pulling on the skin. During a tummy tuck, a large amount of skin is removed and the remaining skin is pulled downward and tightened. That constant stretch, especially with standing, moving, and swelling can cause the scar to spread as it heals.

Skin heals best when it’s relaxed, scars widen when they’re healing under tension.

From a clinical perspective, muscle tension isn’t just mechanical—it’s neurological.
You can’t force a muscle to relax with pressure alone. Muscles release when the nervous system perceives safety.
Gentle, intentional touch can down-regulate the nervous system and allow true relaxation. While deeper pressure can be effective for some individuals, it isn’t required for muscle release. The goal is not force, but working within the body’s tolerance to create a safe environment where the tissue can let go.

If you’ve had a long-incision surgery like a tummy tuck, knee surgery, back surgery, brachioplasty etc, scar work doesn’t start years later, it starts once the incision is fully healed and cleared by your surgeon.

4–8 weeks post-op, depending on:
• How well the incision has closed
• Absence of scabs, drainage, or infection
• Your surgeon’s approval

Once the skin is healed, early intervention matters.

💡 How Myofascial Release helps scars
Surgery creates adhesions where fascia, skin, and underlying tissues stick together. This can lead to:
• Raised or thick scars
• Tightness and pulling sensations
• Restricted movement
• Numbness or sensitivity

Myofascial release uses slow, intentional pressure to:
✔️ Gently break down adhesions
✔️ Improve circulation & hydration to the tissue
✔️ Encourage collagen to lay down more evenly
✔️ Help scars become flatter, softer, and more mobile
✔️ Restore normal movement and comfort

Why scar work isn’t just cosmetic?
A scar that isn’t addressed can affect posture, mobility, and even cause pain in areas far from the incision. Treating the fascia helps the body move and heal as a whole.

🔑 Consistency is key 🔑
Scar remodeling can take months, and regular sessions combined with at-home care make a big difference.

If you’ve had surgery and feel tight, restricted, or want to support optimal healing — scar therapy can be a powerful part of your recovery. DM to determine if Myofascial release is right for you at this moment.
