Byron Eugene Poulton

Gene Poulton, a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully following a sudden illness on Friday, November 7th, 2025. He was surrounded by family and close friends during his final moments, a fitting reflection of the love he gave so freely and received in return throughout his life.

Gene is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Gayle Poulton (Siekierski). He leaves behind his pride and joy, his daughter Ashley (Danielle) Rehler of Rochester, along with his future granddaughter, Lennon Gene Rehler, who will carry his name and, no doubt, his spirit forward. Gene is also survived by his cherished younger brother, Scott Poulton; his niece, Amanda Poulton; and great-nephew, Aiden DeSalvo, as well as brother Mark Poulton of Florida. He will be lovingly remembered by his step-son, Jim Weaver, and many dear friends.

Gene was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Doris (Barker) Poulton; his older brothers Charlie Poulton and Frank Poulton Jr.; his older sisters, Judi Babcock and Sharon Babcock; his younger brother, David Poulton; and his beloved niece, Kali Ann Poulton.

Anyone fortunate enough to know Gene truly loved him. He was the kind of man who embodied honesty, integrity, kindness, and steady, enduring love. Gene’s heart was as deep as the waters he cherished—most especially Irondequoit Bay, where he grew up, lived near most of his life, and found a sense of peace and belonging.

Gene’s passions were unmistakable. His love for the water was matched only by his love for cars and racing. He spent years involved in local car clubs and shared countless memories at car shows with his youngest brother and best friend, Scott, proudly showing off their classic Monte Carlos. The roar of engines, the camaraderie of fellow enthusiasts, and the thrill of the open road were all part of Gene’s vibrant spirit.

For most of his adult life, Gene worked as an auto body technician, lending his skill and craftsmanship to Bob Johnson and then JME Automotive in Ontario, NY. In more recent years, he found great joy and pride working on side projects with one of his closest friends, Chris Fedison—time spent not just restoring cars, but building memories.

A celebration of Gene’s life will be held in early summer of 2026 at a location near the waters of Lake Ontario or Irondequoit Bay—a place where his presence will always be felt. All who knew Gene during his time on earth are warmly welcomed and encouraged to attend. To express interest in attending and to be personally included in the guest list, please email ashtetic@gmail.com.

Gene’s life was defined not by grand gestures, but by unwavering loyalty, generosity, humor, and the countless small kindnesses that touched everyone he met. He will be missed beyond words, remembered beyond measure, and loved beyond time.

Thomas Joseph Geen, Sr. (1944 – 2025) passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025, at age 81, after enduring the challenges of Dementia in Rochester, NY.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rosemary Sweeney Geen. They raised 4 children in Brighton, son T.J. He is credited with engineering and installing the infrastructure for the modernization of the Lilac Festival at Highland Park. Tom volunteered in the Brighton Fire Department starting in 1964 and held various leadership roles, including Battalion Chief. He took great pride in the work of the fire department and the close friendships he formed with his firefighting colleagues. Tom loved music and was an amazing dancer. He loved volunteering in various ways, including The Supper Club of Blessed Sacrament Church with his extended Geen family. When his children started families of their own, Tom was renamed “Bop” by Thomas J. Geen III, and this name stuck for all of his grandchildren. In retirement, he enjoyed spending time with Rosemary at their cottage on Honeoye Lake.

Though the final years of Tom’s life were marked by the challenges of dementia, there were flashes of his quick wit, love of music, and compassion for others, until the very end.
