As of right now, Suzannah Lake LMT is still operating.
To all those cancelling due to illness, thank you. Please do not come in sick. To those paying my cancellation fee digitally to help me stay afloat, thank you a hundred fold.
To my clients who are able and keeping their appointments, thank you so much. Please understand it is my job to treat everyone as if they're carrying (self included). This space is clean and will be cleaned before and after every single treatment.
I'm not a crowded business and I'm not open after 8. Keeping this place clean is even easier now, as I'm limiting my practice to one or two clients per day, and have cancelled all non essential appointments such as relaxation work and trades. For many, this could be the last chance they have to get pain relief before businesses are closed indefinitely, and I am taking that into consideration.
On a personal note, as a sufferer of a chronic illness and a self employed woman who is physically disabled, I work every day knowing it could be my last. Injuries abound in my life, and I'm used to a certain amount of chronic fear and dread that one of them will leave me unable to work. This however, this is not how I plan on sinking. I'm spending as little money as possible, and will be limiting my presence to home and work exclusively from now on.
As of right now, there is no aid for me as a self employed massage therapist. When it becomes mandatory to close the doors i will, but as long as I can treat you safely, I will. Then, y'all better wish me luck. Hopefully I have a massage practice to come back to when this is all over!
Flatten the curve, and say a prayer for me and other self employed individuals.
I am an incredibly brave woman, and for the first time in a long time, I am afraid. Not panicking, not backing down. I am brave and I am afraid.
How are you?
