GiGi's Playhouse of Rochester is one of the nationwide network of Down syndrome achievement centers; changing lives through free, results -driven programs for individuals of all ages, families and communities. Cocoa for a Cause at ROC Holiday Village ❄️☕

We had an amazing time at the ROC Holiday Village participating in The Giving Cup: Cocoa for a Cause! Our Youth Board, Achievers, and incredible volunteers spent the day serving up hot cocoa and spreading holiday cheer throughout the community. 💙

Events like this are extra special to us,not only do a portion of the proceeds come back to support GiGi’s Playhouse Rochester, but it also gives our participants the opportunity to be out in the community, connect with others, and shine in such a meaningful way.

This is one of our favorite traditions each year, and we’re so grateful to everyone who stopped by, shared a smile, and supported our mission. Nothing warms the heart quite like cocoa with a purpose ☕✨

Nathan is 13 and thriving with the help of GiGi’s Playhouse. But his story started long before he could walk or talk, with his mom, Paula. ​

When Nathan was born, Paula received his diagnosis with outdated information and little support. It was overwhelming.​

Then she found GiGi’s. Finally, she had the answers and community she needed. And Nathan's been attending our FREE programming ever since.​

What a truly magical afternoon celebrating the holidays with our GiGi’s family! 🎄✨

Our Christmas party was filled with cookies 🍪, cocoa ☕, presents 🎁, and so much holiday spirit. The smiles, laughter, and joy throughout the Playhouse made the day unforgettable.

A huge THANK YOU to the Girls Spencerport Soccer Club for being our amazing elves for the day 🧝‍♀️💚 From helping with set-up and clean-up to engaging with our participants, playing games, spreading cheer, and even assisting Santa with handing out presents, you made the day extra special.

We would also like to extend a big thank you to Toshiba 🍕 for generously donating pizza for everyone to enjoy. Your support helped keep our families fueled and added even more warmth to an already joyful afternoon.

We are so grateful to Santa and Mrs. Claus 🎅🤶 for stopping by and helping create magical memories for so many families. It truly was a beautiful afternoon full of love, connection, and holiday cheer.

✨ Achievers Giving Back This Holiday Season ✨

This session, our Achievers have worked hard, grown so much, and truly shined,and now they’re ending it in the best way possible: by giving back. ❤️

As part of our Christmas Party, our Achievers have organized a food drive for the Rochester Hope Food Pantry. We kindly ask anyone attending the party to please bring along a canned good or non-perishable food item to help support our community.

We are so proud of this amazing group for their compassion, leadership, and desire to make a difference. After such a successful session, it feels extra special to end on a note of generosity and service.

Before Lucy was even born, Christy walked through our doors scared after a prenatal diagnosis and experienced something completely different: congratulations, hugs, and programming ready to support Lucy and her entire family for life. ​

🌟 Fantastic Friends Celebration! 🌟

This week we wrapped up our Monday & Tuesday Fantastic Friends sessions and what an amazing season it has been!

Huge shoutout to our incredible Nazareth College interns, Alyssa and Maria, who brought creativity, heart, and endless enthusiasm to every single meet-up. From thoughtful activities to big smiles, these two truly made this session unforgettable. 💛

For our final day, the group put on the sweetest little winter performance, complete with handmade shirts crafted by Alyssa herself ❄️👕✨

Our adults absolutely shined. Such a fun, joyful way to end the session!

We’re so grateful for this group, for our fantastic participants, and for the amazing leaders who make these moments possible. 💙
