We are so proud of our GiGi U girls for wrapping up their final round of interviews! 💛

They put so much effort, confidence, and preparation into each conversation, and it truly showed. Up first was one of our board members, James Catone, who they had a great conversation with to kick off this round of interviews.

From there, they had the chance to interview Traci, who previously led GiGi Prep, and today they connected with Amanda, one of our amazing volunteers who supports marketing for our events.

Watching our participants step into these conversations with such confidence has been incredible. They asked thoughtful questions, shared their voices, and continue to grow in so many ways.

Now, it’s time to shift gears as we get ready for graduation! 🎓 Our GiGi U girls have been hard at work writing their speeches and preparing to celebrate all they’ve accomplished. We can’t wait to cheer them on in this exciting next step!

We loved welcoming the Mercy 8th graders back to the Playhouse! 💙

During their visit, they jumped right in to help us bake for our upcoming GiGi U graduation, bringing so much energy, teamwork, and kindness to the kitchen. It’s always so special to watch new friendships form while working side by side.

Beyond the fun, these visits are a meaningful opportunity to learn more about Down syndrome, inclusion, and the power of building a more accepting community. We are so grateful for the time they spent with us and the hearts they brought into our space.

Thank you, Mercy, for being such an amazing part of our Playhouse family. We love having you here! ✨

A little rain couldn’t stop the fun at Fantastic Friends AM ☔️💛

Our Fantastic Friends AM group didn’t let the rainy Rochester weather slow them down. Instead, they got creative and made their own colorful umbrellas to welcome spring in the best way 🌸🌈

After crafting, the fun kept going with a few rounds of co****le, lots of cheering, and even more laughter. There’s nothing better than spending time with friends, rain or shine 💙

But we need your help. On average, we can only match 50% of our participants because we simply don't have enough tutors.

You can change this. Just one hour a week can help an individual gain skills that last a lifetime.

Applications are now open for our summer session. Be a part of something meaningful; become a Literacy Tutor today!

A little update from our Achievers 🌱

Their tomato plants for Rochester Hope are growing strong, and so is their impact in the community. Alongside their gardening efforts, they’ve also been working on a clothing drive to give back in even more ways.

It’s been amazing to watch their hard work come to life and see the difference they are making for others 💛

We were so lucky to spend this week celebrating with the Rochester Amerks, creating unforgettable memories with our participants. From fun events at the Playhouse to an incredible night at the game, this week truly showed the power of community and inclusion. 💛💙

Last night we had the chance to take this amazing photo with the players, and we are still smiling about it! We cannot wait to share more about this incredible night and the entire week very soon.

What a week it has been at GiGi’s Playhouse Rochester! 💙💛

The fun just kept going as more events continued throughout the week with our friends from the Rochester Americans!

First, we hit the ice for Open Skate, where our participants had a blast skating, laughing, and spending time together. ⛸️ Then the fun continued with a second ice event — Broomball — where everyone got to try something new and enjoy even more time on the rink! More photos from these nights are coming soon, so stay tuned! 👀

The excitement didn’t stop there. Our teens and adults also had the opportunity to cook alongside players from the Rochester Americans. From prepping ingredients to sharing laughs in the kitchen, it was such a special experience filled with teamwork, learning, and of course some delicious food! 🍕🥗

We are so thankful to the Amerks for helping make this week so memorable for our GiGi’s community.

And the celebration isn’t over yet! We can’t wait for tomorrow’s Amerks game as we celebrate World Down Syndrome Day, and then we’ll keep the fun going at our Sager event on Saturday!

What an incredible week of fun, friendship, and celebration and we’re not done yet! 💙💛
