The next member of our retina service is Dr. David DiLoreto. Dr Diloreto is the Chair of Ophthalmology at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and Director of the Flaum Eye Institute. He is a highly experienced surgeon, actively involved in research, and has received a National Institutes’ for Health clinician-scientist training award.

Our next member of our retina team is Dr. Mark Breazzano. He is the director of our Vitreoretinal Fellowship Program and has more than 100 peer-reviewed publications. A Syracuse native, he is also an experienced surgeon and was formerly a faculty member at Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute.

With February being Age Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) Awareness Month, we want to introduce our retina team. First up is Dr Raja Narayanan who is our retina chief. He has decades of experience managing retina cases, and is involved in stem cell therapy research to restore vision to people with AMD.

We'd like to welcome Dr. Jordan Sadlak to our optometry service. He comes to us from Michigan and is experienced in ocular disease, diabetic eye care, glaucoma management, and primary eye care. Dr Sadlak can also co-manage LASIK and cataract patients with the Eye Institute’s surgical staff.

We'd like to congratulate our Genetic Counselor Celeste Wyman on being elected President of the New York State Genetics Task Force. She was previously the director at large of their public policy committee in 2023 and 2024. Celeste looks forward to advocating for the importance of genetics in Upstate New York. Our final member of our glaucoma team for you to meet is Dr. Regina Smolyak. Dr. Smolyak is fellowship trained and has experience managing glaucoma in multiple different ways. This includes medications, laser therapy, and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery.

The next member of our glaucoma team is Dr. Ruba Muhtaseb. Dr. Muhtaseb has experience with multiple different treatment options for glaucoma, including treating cases ranging from simple to advanced. She is also fluent in both English and Arabic.
