hey I’m mariyah😊

I graduated from & obtained my license in 2018.

I got into this field because I wish I had someone telling me to take better care of my body, especially as an athlete growing up.

I also had experienced a lot of shoulder pain after my elbow surgery and got a medical massage in California that helped get rid of a 3 month long ache in 90 minutes and life was forever changed.

I love having a career where I’m constantly learning and practicing hands (& feet) on.

I’m rarely ever “bored” & I love all the people who come through my door.

Very lucky and blessed to love what I do every day.

Seated ashiatsu is becoming one of my favorite ways to work with the neck and shoulders ✨

Using my feet allows me to offer something totally different than hands alone—
• gentle neck traction (face up or face down)
• slow, grounded pressure through the traps
• heel glides that reach those deeper, jumpy muscles that don’t always respond to faster work

The pressure is broad, steady, and deeply regulating for the nervous system. A lot of clients are surprised by how safe and supported it feels—especially when the shoulders are guarding or the muscles won’t let go right away.

Seated ashi is amazing for:
– chronic neck & shoulder tension
– nervous system overwhelm
– people who need deeper work without aggressive pressure

As always, communication matters. Your body leads, I listen.

POV: I’m on the bars above the table and suddenly your whole body makes more sense to my nervous system.

Working from above with Ashiatsu completely changes how I feel tension patterns. When I’m standing on the table, I’m not just working a single muscle — I can follow the chain. I might be in your hips or hamstrings with one foot, while the other foot connects into your mid-back or low back on the opposite side. That cross-body contact helps me feel how your fascial lines are talking to each other.

It’s less “this spot is tight”
and more “ohhh, THIS is where the pull is coming from.”

And for my deep-pressure people — this matters.

Using my feet and body weight through the bars lets me deliver consistent, grounded pressure without muscling through it with elbows and forearms. It’s easier on my body, which means I can be more present, more precise, and more intuitive with yours. The pressure feels broad, supported, and intentional — not forced.

When my body is supported, your body can relax enough to actually let go.

That’s the magic of working from above. ✨👣
