Heart-Opening Stretch Routine 💓
(For Better Posture, Breathing & Thoracic Mobility)
Too much sitting or hunching can tighten the chest and stiffen the thoracic spine, which may limit rib cage expansion and make deep breathing feel more difficult. These simple stretches can help encourage chest opening, upright posture, and healthy upper-back movement:
1️⃣ Wall Angels – Stand with your back against a wall, arms bent at 90°, and slowly raise and lower them while keeping your spine neutral.
2️⃣ Doorway Chest Stretch – Place your forearms on either side of a doorway and gently lean forward until you feel a stretch across the chest.
3️⃣ Thoracic Extension Over a Foam Roller – Place a foam roller across your mid-back, support your head, and gently extend over it.
4️⃣ Seated Twist – Sit tall, rotate from the mid-back, and hold for 15–20 seconds on each side.
5️⃣ Cat-Cow – On hands and knees, alternate arching and rounding your spine, focusing on movement through the upper back.
✨ Tip: Focus on slow, deep breaths into your rib cage with each stretch to support mobility and relaxed breathing.
