The Jimmy Simpson Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to providing compassionate, long-term care for individuals with traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and ventilator dependency. Founded in honor of Jimmy Simpson, our mission is to serve, support, and advocate for those affected by TBI, offering specialized care through Safehaven, community support through the Northwest Georgia TBI Support

Group, and a vision for expanded resources through Foundations for the Future.

🐾 A Visit Full of Comfort & Connection 🐾

There’s something truly special about the bond between people and animals—and on April 23, we get to experience it firsthand at Safehaven 💛

We’re excited to welcome Warrior Freedom Service Dogs for a Pet Therapy Visit with our residents and their families. These incredible, highly trained dogs bring more than just wagging tails—they bring comfort, calm, and meaningful connection.

Moments like these remind us that healing isn’t just clinical… it’s emotional, relational, and sometimes covered in fur 🐶

Last week, these trees came down—but something meaningful is rising in their place.

We’re preparing the way for a new building that will allow us to serve more individuals and families impacted by brain injury.

This is more than construction… it’s the next chapter. 💙

We are enjoying the beauty of spring here at Safehaven 🌸
This month, we spent time with our brain injury residents learning all about cherry blossom trees, their meaning, short but beautiful blooming season, and the reminder to appreciate each moment. Inspired by what we learned, we created a themed art project filled with soft pinks, blossoms, and creativity.
Moments like these are a wonderful way to connect, learn, and celebrate the season together 💕

Today we were able to enjoy the beautiful spring day under the cool shade of our gazebo. Kim helped prepare some beautiful basket arrangements for all to enjoy. We invite you to come to Safehaven for a visit. You can sit with us a while, drink a cup of coffee, share a story, & meet some amazing people in the process.
