Let’s Talk About Eating After Surgery.

What you eat after surgery can play an important role in your recovery and at RASC, we’ll give you clear guidance tailored to your specific procedure and medications.

In general, here are a few things to keep in mind:
- Skip the alcohol for at least 24 hours after your operation.
- Follow medication instructions closely—some prescriptions must be taken with food, while others (like certain antibiotics) don’t mix well with dairy products.
- Be aware of side effects—a few medications can even increase your sensitivity to sunlight.

Your care team will let you know exactly what to avoid and what’s safe, but it’s always a good idea to ask both your doctor and your pharmacist if you’re unsure.

The bottom line? A little attention to your diet after surgery can help you heal more comfortably and get you back on your feet faster.

We understand that having surgery can bring stress. That’s completely natural. At RASC, one of our top priorities is helping you feel as calm, informed and supported as possible throughout your experience.

Our team is here to guide you every step of the way, but there are some things you can do on your own to ease anxiety before surgery. Take a few moments throughout the day to slow down and breathe deeply. Give yourself space to rest. Avoid activities or situations that add unnecessary stress.

And most importantly, always follow your doctor's instructions on what to avoid before and after your procedure–your safety and recovery depend on it.

A little peace of mind goes a long way and at RASC , we’re here to help you find it.

Flu Season Is Around the Corner—Let’s Get Ahead of It!

It may still feel like summer, but flu season will be here before you know it. Now’s the perfect time to talk to your primary care provider about getting a flu shot for you and your family. It’s a simple step that can go a long way in protecting the people you love.

Of course, vaccines are just one part of the equation. Don’t underestimate the power of good habits:
- Wash your hands often
- Stay hydrated with healthy fluids
- And if you’re not feeling well—stay home and rest

Let’s all do our part to stay healthy, protect others, and keep our community strong this season.

Dealing with a Hernia? You Don’t Have to Live with the Discomfort.

If a hernia is interfering with your day-to-day life, don’t wait to seek relief. At RASC, we specialize in outpatient hernia repair procedures that are designed to get you back to feeling like yourself—quickly and safely.

Hernias occur when tissue pushes through a weak spot in the muscle wall, often causing pain, pressure, or a visible bulge. At RASC, our experienced surgeons use advanced, minimally invasive techniques to gently reposition the tissue and reinforce the area—often resulting in less pain, smaller incisions, and faster recovery times compared to traditional surgery.

You’ll be in and out the same day, with clear instructions for your recovery and a care team that’s with you every step of the way.
