😍 More tuber love on this lovely day.⁣

🥔 This isn't an all-encompassing scale of potato and sweet potato preparations, but it's some of my favorites.⁣

🍳How do you like to make your potatoes and sweet potatoes?

🍟🍪🍦 Can’t resist the chips… the cookies… the ice cream? It’s normal to feel like you can’t stop overeating certain types of foods.⁣

🍭 Processed foods, in particular, are explicitly designed to be hyperpalatable and irresistible.

The good news? There are strategies to help you build awareness of your behavior and control treat consumption. Here are a handful of suggestions you could try ⤴️⁣

💥This is an oldie but a goodie.

🔑 This applies to everything from nutrition to gymnastics.⁣

🎯 Goal setting is usually where most people stop, but to really ATTAIN your goals — you have to build your skills
for goal achievement. Which goes a few levels deeper:⁣

1) What's the GOAL that we want to achieve?⁣
2) What are the SKILLS required to attain that goal?⁣
3) What are the daily PRACTICES that will help build those skills?⁣

If you think of body change as a pyramid, here’s what it should look like 🔝⁣⁣
⁣⁣
👀 You'll notice it’s the opposite of what you might expect.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
All the “expert stuff” — adjusting macronutrients, advanced nutrition strategies, etc. — is at the top. They’re a
“nice to have”.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
🍓🥒 The base of the pyramid — your foundation — is what surrounds you.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
🌟 In general, when it comes to engineering healthy eating, here’s the golden rule:

1. Make healthy behaviors convenient.
2. Make other behaviors less convenient.⁣
⁣⁣
💥 By simply changing your environment in small ways, you can make changes without even thinking about
them.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
💡For more ingenious environment tweaks that will improve your eating habits immediately, DM me.

🍽 Most people who come to nutrition coaching already know what a healthy, balanced meal looks like.⁣

🤔 The real question they have is: How do I consistently eat healthy, balanced meals in the context of real life?⁣

😧 You know, like “I got home late, after a long meeting, then my toddler spilled an entire bottle of olive oil on the
kitchen floor!” (Yeah, true story).⁣ Life can be complicated, your meals don't have to be.

🔝 With these meal prep strategies, I teach clients exactly how to have healthy food ready when they need it.⁣

🍲🥙🥘 The result? A fridge full of fast, healthy options to choose from, even as life continues to unfold.⁣

😔 Some say exercise can help manage depression. Sure, it’s worth a try — in theory. But when you’re
depressed, it can be hard to muster the motivation. Heck, just getting out of bed is a victory some days.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣
💡But here’s one simple yet effective strategy you can try to get you moving: Take it step-by-step.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣
🎯 This illustration, inspired by the workbook, “Exercise for Mood and Anxiety Disorders”, is another great
example of an *easier* way to get yourself to exercise.

⚖ I’m a big fan of looking at foods on an “eat more” to “eat some” to “eat less” spectrum (instead of “approved”
and “off-limits”).

🧐 And I encourage everyone to try looking at foods through this lens, as well!⁣

💡 Here is a handy, visual food guide to give you a better idea of what I mean. They’re designed to help you
make healthier choices, no matter your knowledge of nutrition.⁣

🔑 Remember: Aim for progress, not perfection.

😳Sound familiar?⁣

🚧 While this kind of “pause-button mentality”⁣ seems reasonable, it could be ruining your health and fitness.

Have you ever started a diet, but within a few weeks or months just... gotten off track? Don't worry, it happens to everyone. Here is a helpful and simple protocol to follow when you find yourself "off track" 🤯

If there's one thing I always try to help my clients understand, it's this: There's no such thing as failure, only feedback. 💪🏻💪🏻

‼️ Motivation comes AFTER action: A 5️⃣ minute action could be something as simple as writing down what your next meal should be. Do a small, quick 5-minute action that gets you moving in the right direction. You'll be surprised at how a simple 5-minute action can turn into something big.

Changing your environment is a simple but powerful way to get yourself back on track. If there's a bag of potato chips in the pantry, you're probably going to eat it eventually. You're less likely to eat junk food if it isn't easily accessible! Do your best to keep junk food out of the house and you'll be amazed at how much this simple step helps. 🤯

📣📣📢 Get support! Having a support system to help keep you on the path is imperative to staying on track. Make sure you have family members and friends you can reach out to when things get tough!

Last but not least, LEARN FROM IT. If you found yourself eating an entire family sized bag of potato chips for lunch. Figure out WHY. Did you pack a lunch? Have you had a stressful day? What obstacles got in your way that lead to this choice?

Whenever you find yourself off track, follow these simple steps to get you back on the path.

I am taking on more clients as of now! Be sure to DM me if you want to get a spot before they're all gone!

A lot of people tend to follow the "all or nothing" mindset when it comes to eating healthy. The thing is, eating healthy can be hard, and when we "fall off the wagon" it can make us feel as though we've failed somehow.

Instead of having the "all or nothing" mindset, try to have an "always something" mindset. What does this mean? It means ADDING healthy foods to your meals rather than SUBTRACTING the foods you like.

Having a healthy relationship with food and learning to enjoy eating healthy is a process that takes time, and a lot of self-love. So, if you "fall off the wagon" don't be too hard on yourself! Enjoy your meal and do your best to make the next one slightly healthier.

Enjoy the process, enjoy your food, and most importantly, enjoy being YOU!
