Celebrating 20 Years: Last week at our Service Awards luncheon, we celebrated a major milestone: President and CEO Sam Miller’s 20th anniversary with Crusader Community Health.

Sam joined Crusader in August 2005 as the VP of Finance and was promoted to Chief Financial Officer, then Executive Vice President. He became President and CEO on December 31, 2019. Over the past two decades, his leadership has helped guide tremendous growth and progress for our organization.

During Sam’s tenure, Crusader has expanded services and facilities to better serve our community, including the opening of Loves Park (2011) and Alpine (2017) clinics, the rebuild of West State (2020), an addition at Belvidere (2022), and the upcoming Crusader Community Health on Linden, set to open this summer.

In his remarks, Sam reflected on what truly drives Crusader’s success:
“All of what we do is made possible because of the team that we have. The work we do — and all of you do — is so important. Thank you for being part of the team.”

We are grateful for Sam’s mission-driven leadership and commitment to growth, quality care, and the incredible team that makes the work possible. Congratulations on 20 years, Sam! Thank you for helping Crusader continue to build a healthier community!
