Saturday, September 13, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is once again sponsoring the Friends of the Poor Walk at 9:00 am starting with Mass at the Y Lodge, 200 Y Blvd. There will be light refreshments provided after the Mass and the Walk will then begin at 10:30 am.

The Society opens its ears to hear and recognize those who are poor and suffering and assists them in whatever way we can. This Walk, through the many prayers and donations from our generous parishioners, helps us to continue to do this much needed work in the City of Rockford.

It is truly a beautiful experience to partake in this outdoor Mass on the banks overlooking the Rock River. Our St. Rita Vincentians will be in charge of the Mass. We are planning on having four priests from our various Rockford parishes concelebrate the Mass this year and music will be provided by our very own Laura & Rudy Ortiz. It will be a memorable event.
