This - See How New Technology Improves Independent Living.

• Recently a client with macular degeneration was struggling to read print material with a hand held magnifier. She was concerned about managing her medications correctly. On her behalf, Monica, one of the Center's Vision Rehabilitation Therapists, submitted an application to EnVision America to request a SpokenRx device which works in conjunction with the RFID labels placed on her medications by the local pharmacy. Once the label is scanned by SpokenRX, it delivers the pharmaceutical information and instructions aloud ensuring dosage, timing and with or without food can be followed safely.

is next week December 2nd. Please consider contributing to the Center and making a lasting impact on the lives of the people we serve.

• A homeless man living in a local shelter came to the Center for an exam to get eye glasses. We worked with the Rockford Lions Club and were able to fit him with glasses and provide him clinical care for his diagnosed glaucoma. His social worker arranged for continuing treatment at the Center and medical coverage through the UW Community Care program.
