(1)

Recovery is a process of positive change through which individuals improve their health and wellness, live a self-directed life and strive to reach their full potential. This process applies not only to the individual but to those around them. We are a drop-in resource center run by members from our community.
We offer a wide range of recovery meetings, a safe place to work on all areas of your recovery, and recovery coaches to help you navigate the recovery process. CRCC offers free sober social events, Wellness Wednesdays, and connections to other community resources.

The word โ€œgamblingโ€ used to evoke images of traditional forms of gambling such as slot machines, scratch tickets, poker games, or betting on horses at the racetrack. With the proliferation of online gambling opportunities, those images are rapidly changing. People of all ages and backgrounds can gamble 24/7 on their devices,
while at home, at work, and at school. This can result in gambling-related harm.

Learning Objectives:
1. Define gambling, problem gambling, and
gambling disorder.
2. Discuss risk factors and warning signs.
3. Identify brief screening tools and conversation
strategies.
4. List resources to help individuals and affected
others.

Speaker: Lori Manson. Lori has served as the Problem Gambling Services Coordinator at ADEPT Maine for seven years. She is deeply
involved in the field at local, regional, and national levelsโ€” serving on the Maine Council on Problem Gambling board, participating in the Northeast Consortium, and representing Maine on the NCPG Affiliates Committee. Recently, she was elected to the NCPG Board of Directors.
