Presented by the RSU13 Youth Alliance, the Winter Carnival will feature outdoor games, a fire pit with s'mores, indoor art, and a crockpot cook-off. Grab your hats and come on over - all are welcome. We'll be directing folks where to park and shuttling folks to/from The Landing Place. ❄❄❄

A huge thank you to the team at Sail Away Maine Realty & Property Management, Inc. and friends for their donation of eight bikes to local youth! The team at Sidecountry Sports generously offered a discount on the purchase price for Sail Away - we are always floored by the support we receive from our neighbors! Thanks for helping make the holidays brighter for the young folks in our community.

UPDATE: We are full to the brim with gifts! Thank you so much to everone who donated. We are all set on donations going forward!

Hi folks! Every year, The Landing Place holds a Christmas market for youth to “shop” for their friends and families. We are looking to have items donated that youth can choose from at the Christmas market. If you have any of the following that you are able to give, we would be so appreciative! Items can be dropped at TLP (61 Park St) from 10AM-1PM from today until Wednesday, December 17.

Here's a list of what we're looking for:
• Kitchen appliances that work (Crockpot, microwave)
• Nice dishes and sets
• Picture frames
• Living room decorations (throw pillows, wall art)
• Candles
• Lamps
• Games and puzzles (please no half completed or missing pieces)
• Christmas/holiday decor/ornaments
• Stuffed animals
• Coffee table books
• Small houseplants
• Linen and towel sets
• Instruments
• Hats and scarves
• Nice jewelry
• Accessories for mom
• Handbags
• Garden tools
• Tools

No drop off on weekends, thanks!!

COMMUNITY CHALLENGE: In honor of Giving Tuesday, our amazing friends Renovation Husbands stopped by to drop off a $1000 check for The Landing Place! If you may recall, Stephen and David renovated TLP's backyard this summer and did PHENOMENAL work -- and have been such great supporters ever since. They are challenging our community to see if their $1000 donation can be MATCHED from individual donors. Want to join the challenge? Our friends at Eastern Tire & Auto Service Inc. are currently running a HOLIDAY GIFT CARD DRIVE in support of The Landing Place! Drop off a gift card (Walmart, Hannaford, Shaws are all great) and Eastern Tire will MATCH the total amount collected at the end of the drive! Also during the months of November and December, you can check out the work of local artist Hillary Kelly at the Garage Gallery at their Rockland location (70 Park St).

We're so thankful for local businesses who step up to support us in creative ways. Thank you Eastern Tire!

Join us this Thursday, October 30, for our epic Halloween celebration with the RSU13 Youth Alliance! There will be a costume contest, pumpkin carving and painting, spooky music, yummy food, bowls of candy, donuts on a string, roasted marshmallows, face painting, jewelry making, fortune-telling, and more! We hope to see you all there :)

A huge thank you to the crew at Aldermere Farm and Erickson Fields for donating pumpkins for carving at The Landing Place! We're so grateful to be supported by our community in ways like this. Happy (almost) Halloween!

The Landing Place is a youth center offering a wide variety of services to resilient and often marginalized youth experiencing adversity. We can’t wait to see these pumpkins carved!

WE WON! The Landing Place was awarded the “Power of the Positive” Award from Maine Youth Thriving in the “Positive Youth Environments” category! The Landing Place Director Joseph Hufnagel, Assistant Director Emily Carver, and Homeworthy Executive Director Molly Feeney accepted the award in person at the MYT Summit on October 10.

We are incredibly grateful to those of you who voted for us to win this award — it is so wonderful to see The Landing Place’s work celebrated in this way. Sending a special thanks to the many youth who choose The Landing Place as their space, and to the incredible team who shows up everyday.

We are hosting a Halloween Party at the end of the month, and we need your help! We are looking for costumes (new or gently used, teenager, one size fits all, adult sizes), decorations, and candy.
