It’s true that the effects of trauma can be passed down through generations.

What’s also true is that the capacity to heal and the effects of positive growth can also be transmitted to loved ones. 💕

Did you know that our brains are wired with a negative bias? Our ancestors needed this for their very survival! (Think: don’t eat that plant, it will kill you…).

Now, we have these brains prone to heightened levels of anxiety and alarm, while we live in a world where our food is packaged neatly and generally safe.

The good news: our brains are also equipped with neuroplasticity, which allows our brains to grow and adapt. This means, many of our negative thoughts are no longer serving us, and it’s time we learn to challenge them!

Maybe you messed up, and you’re telling yourself “I’m never going to get this right.” Well, that thought is rooted in positive intent (growth), but instead often holds us back from that very intent.

Here’s one tool to help!

Sometimes people avoid… thoughts, places, settings, feelings… and therapy.

It makes sense… many of us, especially adults, weren’t taught to manage or face feelings, but instead to sweep them away, stuff them in a box, bury them.
