Shaving cream… but make it a full-body sensory experience 👣✨
Try spreading shaving cream on a tray or mat and exploring it with your feet—squishing, sliding, drawing shapes, or even spelling letters. Sensory play doesn’t have to stop at the hands!
Why full-body sensory play (not just hands) matters:
• Supports body awareness & proprioception by engaging larger muscle groups
• Builds tactile tolerance in less-used areas like feet
• Encourages bilateral coordination and core engagement
• Helps with sensory regulation through deep, organizing input
• Promotes motor planning as the body figures out new ways to move
• Increases confidence and flexibility with new sensations
• Feels novel and motivating for kids who avoid messy play with hands
Tip: Start slow, model first, and always follow the child’s lead 💛
