Confused by the season?
I was taking photos of our resident female hummingbird when our resident male suddenly appeared & started performing aerial displays. It was completely unexpected & over before I knew what was happening. I felt as confused as the female hummingbird looked… unfortunately also impossible to focus on both birds.

Something “wicked” this way comes…I was outside in the backyard when all of a sudden, the neighbor’s chickens went berse...

Something “wicked” this way comes…
I was outside in the backyard when all of a sudden, the neighbor’s chickens went berserk and a streak of brown came by and landed in the power pole in another neighbor’s yard. This BIG (bigger than song birds or scrub jays) gorgeous raptor was perched in the cross beams and posed for a few quick shots before taking off.

Yikes! All these wires up here are a trip hazard!
